What a great game this was. I highly recommend it. The art style is amazing, music 10/10 and the fighting just finishes it off. Cool, Cozy, Lovely game! Nailed it ^^
nice experience. there's nothing objectionable with the themes or the plotline. the art is beautiful, the landscape is genuinely evocative of norwegian nature, and the caracters are cute and fluffy, and the sprites mesh well together. the music is pretty, although the strings feel like theyre written for keyboard. there should have been more sound effects, combat suffers greatly for relying on only visual feedback. combat feels sluggish and unresponsive, with poor feedback on i-frames, getting hit, stamina usage. the swamp area is laggy at large screen resolutions, it might have something to do with the lanterns. a kind of critical ui issue i encountered, was trying to load a save from the title screen. in typical soulsian fashion i spammed the interact button, which caused me to accidentally select "new game" instead of "load game" after selecting my save, which wiped the save data without warning. absolutely worth a playthrough for those vaguely interested in gamemakeresque 2d rpgs, pixel arts, soulslikes,, or anthrofied norwegian wildlife

Such a cozy game! It's a short game but worth the time. There aren't any complex mechanics, just a guy with a sword and a boomerang and some bad guys to kill. The art is gorgeous, I loved the character design and landscapes The only thing I missed would be some feedback when you are hit, more than the flash, some sound maybe.
A short and sweet game with cute visuals. The game is not too hard and the combat is very basic.
Short and sweet with a bit of a challenge. This is a very light souls-like with its own cozy charm.
Short and cute adventure. It feels like a student project, so I reviewed it with that in mind. I really wanted to give this a thumbs up because the passion and vibes are definitely there, but it has some issues that need to be addressed. Considering the $10 price tag, there are currently a few too many rough edges for me to fully recommend it. I might come back and replay it after a later patch and update my review <3 Good: - The art and animations are great - The environments look really nice - Combat is surprisingly fun, with a great variety of enemies. Even though you only have one attack and the boomerang, it still stays engaging - The characters are cute, and I like the style - The bosses are really well done and genuinely feel like proper souls-like fights. Bamsefar gave me a proper beating Bad: It feels unfinished, which is unfortunate because it’s really close to being a complete package. The video settings are just a single resolution dropdown, which didn’t even work for me, and it’s completely unstyled. Things like skipping cutscenes are also missing proper UI/styling. - There’s very little feedback when taking damage: no sound, rumble, hit stop, or clear visual indication. In a souls-like game, that feedback is really important - The game is missing a lot of sound effects. There’s so much attention to detail in the visuals, but the audio feels neglected. No boomerang sound, no pickup sounds, etc. - I had some really bad freezes and lag spikes where the music suddenly glitched out - Reloading the game sometimes restarted quests - I got lost many times, and the map wasn’t very helpful since there are no key locations marked, and you can’t move the map around
Cozy, short game.
Short & simple game but with a very pleasant aesthetic!
I really enjoyed the artstyle, and some of the NPC are quite lovable.
