Gun. Shoot. Satisfaction Bigger Gun. Shoot. Ricochet. Cranium Destroyed. Maximum Satisfaction
It's so good. My favorite top-down shooter. Great guns and gear. The combat feels so solid.
Two game ending bugs in about 2 hours of gameplay. The game itself is moderately fun, but it's not worth paying for when your run will end due to random bugs
ТОП!
genuinely one of the best roguelikes imo. Good gunplay, funny, extremely chaotic.
This version of Marathon is -- pretty good 👀
joking aside, SYNTHETIK is a fantastic rogue-lite game with lots on offer in an amazing package. No muss, no fuss, just print one of the 8 [strike]Runners[/strike] classes, take your gun(s), and go for a walk. SYNTHETIK doesn't hold your hand, but if you're familiar with Metal Gear or Hades, you'll be right at home in no time. It's incredibly accessible from the start, with a smart difficulty curve that expects mechanical mastery. However, even if you don't make it to the end, you still come away with progress that helps you get further each time. There's a lot of love for videogames packed into this package, and the whole package feels very crisp in a way that many bigger games miss the mark on. The aesthetic is sharp and functional, with clean visual language* and memorable levels free of random clutter. The soundtrack ♥♥♥♥♥ hard from start to finish, and there's even additional soundtracks that can be found in-mission to adjust your experience a bit. The mechanics are intuitive and the enemy behavior patterns feel good to play around. Overcoming challenges in the game feels rewarding rather than exasperating, and the game isn't shy about giving the player frankly irresponsible tools for causing mayhem and destruction, as the enemies get just as destructive. This is a game where friendly fire is very much on, so keep that in mind when you pick up the bouncing saw blades, as they will ♥♥♥♥ you right up. *My singular critique for the game is that there's no character highlighting as an accessibility feature, and friendly drones are indistinguishable from standard enemies in terms of their visuals (some have green health bars above, some do not) which can make your first experience with the Engineer... interesting.
