The game is very short one. So not much time playtime for the amount that you need spend to get it. Further more most of the choices in the game don't really matters when it comes to the outcome of the story overall. Except for the last choice which I thought was just another meaningless choice of the game. Until I saw that the game did finish after it which did come as a surprise. Then I don't like the fact that the female protagonist doesn't really have any good actions to stand up to the dudes who are black mailing her for sexual favours. Because I would at least have liked the option to spice it up and take revenge on them in good way. Like luring the antagonist Aiden into the pool underwater where you could keep him struggling for air until he learned his lesson.
Swimmer Admiration — Achievements: No | Steam Deck: Unknown

TL;DR: Decent adult visual novel with multiple scenes and endings, but inconsistent visuals and overpriced. Worth it only with a massive discount.
Swimmer Admiration is an adult visual novel built around a simple setup: a story that serves mainly as a framework for unlocking scenes and exploring different character dynamics. You follow a fairly classic structure: Read the story. Make choices. Unlock scenes and endings. Replay to see variations. This time, there is actual content. You have branching paths, a gallery, and multiple scenes to unlock, which gives the game some replay value. However, the execution is uneven. The strongest point is clearly the main scenes, which are well done and stand out compared to the rest of the game. The weaker part is everything around it. A lot of the visuals feel repetitive — reused character images with minor changes (expressions, outfits), which creates a noticeable gap in quality. You can clearly see the difference between key scenes and the rest. The story itself is very standard. It works as a setup, but doesn’t bring much originality or depth. Music is minimal but acceptable. Technically, the game is stable and does its job without issues. The main problem remains the price. For a game with this level of inconsistency, it’s simply too expensive. Good scenes and replay value are there, but inconsistent visuals and high price hold it back. Only worth it with a massive discount. Swimmer Admiration is a focused adult visual novel that blends character-driven storytelling, romantic tension, and explicit content into a compact narrative built around ambition, admiration, and personal discovery. Developed by PUSH! Soft and published by Push Publication, the game clearly positions itself within the nukige and mature visual novel space, but it attempts to go beyond pure fan service by grounding its erotic elements in a story about aspiration, identity, and complex interpersonal relationships. From the outset, it establishes a tone that mixes slice-of-life pacing with emotionally charged moments, aiming to keep players engaged through character dynamics as much as through its adult scenes. The story follows Kasumi Ishihara, a young swimmer who relocates to Australia in pursuit of her dreams and her admiration for the talented and charismatic swimmer Zoe Kaplan. This setup provides a strong narrative backbone, as Kasumi’s move is motivated by both professional ambition and deeply personal feelings. The fish-out-of-water aspect of living abroad helps frame her vulnerability, while the competitive swimming environment introduces themes of rivalry, pressure, and self-worth. Rather than rushing into its mature content, the game initially focuses on establishing relationships, personalities, and emotional stakes, allowing the player to understand who these characters are before intimacy becomes a central element. Gameplay adheres closely to traditional visual novel conventions. Progression is driven through reading dialogue, observing character interactions, and making choices at key moments that influence relationships and story direction. These decisions affect which routes open, how characters respond to Kasumi, and which endings ultimately become available. While the mechanical side is simple, the branching structure encourages replayability, especially for players interested in seeing different romantic outcomes and variations in character development. The game does not attempt to disguise itself as something more mechanically complex than it is, instead focusing on clarity and narrative flow. Adult content is a significant and explicit part of the experience, but it is framed as an extension of character relationships rather than appearing entirely disconnected from the story. Intimate scenes are often tied to emotional turning points, moments of trust, or shifts in power dynamics between characters. For players accustomed to adult visual novels, this integration will feel familiar, but Swimmer Admiration does make a visible effort to contextualize these moments within its broader narrative themes of admiration, desire, and self-realization. That said, the game remains unapologetically explicit and is clearly designed for a mature audience that knows what it is seeking. Visually, the game leans heavily into anime-inspired character art, with expressive sprites and detailed CG illustrations that highlight key emotional and erotic moments. Character designs are polished and distinctive enough to make each route feel personal, while backgrounds serve their purpose without overshadowing the characters themselves. Animation is minimal, as expected for the genre, but careful use of poses and facial expressions helps convey mood and emotional nuance. The presentation is consistent and professional within the scope of an indie adult visual novel. Audio design plays a supportive role rather than a defining one. Music tracks are used to reinforce emotional beats, whether during quieter introspective scenes or more intense moments of intimacy. Sound design is subtle and unobtrusive, allowing players to focus on reading and character interaction without distraction. While not especially memorable on its own, the soundtrack fits the game’s tone and pacing well. Where Swimmer Admiration may divide players is in its depth and pacing. Those looking for a lengthy, heavily layered narrative may find the story relatively straightforward, and character arcs, while sincere, do not reach the complexity of larger-scale visual novels. The game’s scope is clearly limited, and once routes are completed, there is little mechanical incentive beyond revisiting scenes or unlocking alternative endings. However, for its intended audience, this focused approach may be a strength rather than a weakness, delivering a complete experience without unnecessary padding. In the end, Swimmer Admiration succeeds by committing fully to its identity. It offers a story-driven adult visual novel experience centered on ambition, attraction, and personal growth, supported by expressive art and choice-based progression. While it does not push the genre forward in terms of mechanics or narrative innovation, it delivers a cohesive and polished experience for players who enjoy mature visual novels with a balance of romance, character drama, and explicit content. For fans of the genre, it stands as a solid, self-contained title that understands its audience and delivers exactly what it promises. Rating: 6/10
