It's your classic solitaire game alright, and that's about it. I have no idea why they named it "School Witch" as one such is never seen or mentioned. The levels are named and have backgrounds that could indicate a story, but if there is one I didn't get it. As an experienced solitaire-player I found it way too easy, even the harder levels. I just felt like I was grinding for no reason and I'm glad I bought this when it was 90% off. If you want a more intriguing, story rich, rewarding solitaire game, I would recommend Fairy Solitaire.
Schön gezeichnetes Kartensolitaire Spiel. Gespielt wird mit den TriPeaks Regeln. Die "Teen Witch" Artworks sind hübsch anzusehen.
is good ;)
Sweet Solitaire: School Witch from Somer Games and 8floor is a casual card puzzle built around a familiar solitaire variant, presented through a lighthearted magical school theme. It’s a game that clearly prioritizes ease of entry and relaxed pacing, offering a structure that can be understood almost immediately while providing enough gradual challenge to keep players engaged over a longer sequence of levels. Rather than aiming for complexity or innovation, it leans into comfort and repetition, delivering a steady experience designed for short, low-pressure sessions. The core gameplay revolves around clearing cards by selecting ones that are either one rank higher or lower than the current active card, forming chains that can be extended with careful planning. This system is simple on the surface, but it encourages players to think ahead, particularly when dealing with layered layouts where certain cards are only revealed after others are removed. Early levels allow for experimentation and quick progress, while later stages demand more deliberate sequencing to avoid running out of moves. The balance between accessibility and light strategy is handled well, making it easy to learn but occasionally satisfying to master. Progression unfolds across a wide range of stages that gradually introduce new obstacles and variations. Some cards may be locked, blocked, or positioned in ways that limit immediate access, requiring players to consider alternative routes through the layout. These additions provide incremental complexity, but they don’t fundamentally change how the game is played. Instead, the challenge comes from increasingly intricate arrangements and the need to manage available options more carefully. This consistent structure makes the experience predictable, but also stable and easy to return to. Supporting mechanics such as power-ups and helpful tools add flexibility to the gameplay. Options like reshuffling cards, undoing moves, or using wildcard-style abilities can help recover from difficult situations and reduce frustration. While these features make the game more forgiving, they also shift the experience slightly away from strict strategy, as players can rely on them to bypass challenging scenarios. Depending on how they are used, they can either enhance accessibility or diminish the sense of accomplishment. The magical school theme provides a soft narrative framework that ties the levels together. Players follow a young witch as she progresses through her training, with brief story moments offering context between stages. The narrative is minimal and unobtrusive, serving more as a backdrop than a driving force, but it adds a sense of continuity that helps the game feel cohesive. The theme is reflected in the visual design, with bright colors, whimsical elements, and consistent motifs that reinforce the setting without distracting from the gameplay. Visually, the game focuses on clarity and readability. Card layouts are clean and easy to follow, which is essential for maintaining smooth gameplay in a puzzle-focused title. Backgrounds and interface elements are simple but effective, creating a pleasant atmosphere without overwhelming the player with detail. The audio design follows a similar approach, with calm, unobtrusive music that complements the relaxed pace of play. Where the game begins to show its limitations is in its long-term variety. Despite the large number of levels, the core mechanics remain unchanged, and the incremental additions do little to significantly alter the experience. Over time, the gameplay can feel repetitive, especially during extended sessions where the sense of novelty fades. The reliance on random card draws also introduces moments where success feels dependent on luck rather than planning, which can occasionally disrupt the sense of control. Another aspect that affects its overall impact is how closely it resembles other solitaire-themed titles. It fits comfortably within a broader category of similarly structured games, offering a reliable but familiar experience. While this consistency can be appealing to fans of the genre, it also makes it harder for the game to stand out as something unique. Even with these drawbacks, Sweet Solitaire: School Witch fulfills its purpose effectively. It provides a relaxing, easy-to-play experience that can be enjoyed in short bursts, making it well-suited for casual players or those looking for a low-stress puzzle game. Its straightforward mechanics and gentle progression ensure that it remains approachable throughout, even if it doesn’t offer much beyond its core concept. In the end, it’s a game built on familiarity and simplicity. It doesn’t aim to push boundaries, but it delivers a consistent and enjoyable loop for those who appreciate solitaire-style puzzles. For players drawn to its theme and structure, it offers a pleasant, if somewhat repetitive, way to pass the time. Rating: 6/10

A long, fun, and challenging solitaire game. It gets harder the further along you get.
