Faerie Solitaire

I suck at solitaire so for that this gets a negative review.

I first got and tried this game back in 2015 and jumping back into it, I still would say this is a fun solitaire game. It's pretty simple golf solitaire style game with a goal of collecting eggs as well as evolving creatures. It can be pretty grindy (especially if your focus is on achievements), however if you're a fan of solitaire, then it's still a relaxing game. The graphics are pretty basic and I honestly didn't really read the creatures descriptions (something I don't normally skip but I was more focused on just playing the game). Overall, the game can be a grind (a long grind) so if you're not a fan of that, I'd skip the game.. However, I do personally think this is one of the more fun solitaire games out there and say give it a try.

This game is actually insane. I’ve played plenty of Solitaire games, but this is the first one that somehow manages to completely mess up the core concept. Way too often I’d just sit there flipping cards endlessly, never getting the one I needed. It genuinely felt like the game was personally messing with me. In the late game especially, progress depends on perfect setups—but you don’t fail because you play badly. You fail because the game simply refuses to give you the required card. So you restart the stage and waste another 15 minutes grinding. Rinse and repeat. And speaking of grind: the amount of it is ridiculous, especially considering how little you get in return. You can upgrade a few things, but it’s always something meaningless like 5% more cash or slightly faster egg hatching. Ah yes, the eggs. They hatch into mythical creatures like phoenixes or hydras, which sounds cool—until you realize they do absolutely nothing. No gameplay effects, no bonuses. Just a bit of flavor text. That’s it. The overall quality doesn’t help either. The game is janky as hell, the settings are barebones, and you can’t even change the resolution. TL;DR: Easily the worst Solitaire game I’ve ever played. I still don’t understand how you can screw up Solitaire, but somehow they managed it.
