There is no story in this game, just a single level where your goal is to survive for as long as possible or make it to a final goal of 15 waves. The only real choice you make at the start is your pistol. You can pick a balanced automatic pistol, one that deals high damage with strong knockback, or a fast firing pistol with ricocheting bullets but low damage. As mentioned, the gameplay is built around waves of enemies. Even though the title includes the word survivor, which usually implies automatic attacks while you focus only on movement, here you have to aim and shoot manually. Another challenge is that the first person view does not give you a full overview of the arena. A red arrow appears whenever an enemy spawns behind you, but this rarely helps. You will often run straight into enemies while trying to escape the ones in front of you. The key to survival is constant movement and baiting enemies into following you in a line so you can take out several at once. It is almost impossible to finish a wave without taking damage since enemies spawn all around you, and the arena is small and packed with obstacles you need to jump over. Aside from that, the rest of the gameplay fits the survivor label. Enemies drop money and experience when killed, and you need to collect both. There is no penalty for taking your time, and nothing is lost. Once a wave is cleared, any drops you missed while dodging enemies are automatically pulled toward you. This also happens during a wave if you leave a drop untouched for too long, which is a great feature since drops can include valuable health. You also fully heal after each wave. The next wave only begins once you interact with a terminal. This opens a screen where you choose one perk from a random selection of three. You can reroll the options, but the cost is very high, and doing so often prevents you from buying anything during the early stages. Perks come in different colors that indicate their rarity, with higher rarity also meaning higher cost. The selection is fairly standard for this type of game, including bonuses like increased critical chance, knockback, or reload speed. Almost every perk also comes with a downside, such as higher damage paired with reduced range. When you fill the experience bar, you also get the chance to upgrade your weapon. Once again, you choose from three random options, such as reduced spread, less recoil, or increased experience gain. These upgrades also have rarity levels. After five upgrades, your weapon evolves into either a rifle or a shotgun. You keep all previously purchased perks, but the weapon stats change significantly, with both improvements and drawbacks. After several more upgrades, the weapon evolves again into an even stronger version. The downside is that a new weapon can disrupt your build and sometimes perform worse than the previous one. Later waves introduce much deadlier enemies that can drain large portions of your health bar. Most of them do not shoot, but simply touching them causes damage. One strategy I found effective is running in circles around an environmental object. This forces enemies to spawn around that area and reduces the risk of colliding with one while retreating. As usual, reaching the final wave depends heavily on luck with perk rolls. In one run, I picked up a rocket that fired randomly, explosive bullets, and a chance to heal on each kill. There are also legendary perks that are extremely expensive, such as one that guarantees critical hits at maximum damage. Once I unlocked the perk that removed the need to reload, the run was basically over. I just ran around holding the fire button while explosions and damage numbers filled the screen, barely able to see anything through the chaos. There are no rewards or unlocks after wave 15. The game simply ends with a basic result screen.
