For who hate/like drones this game is awesome haha, ultra frenetic and challenging!
I'm not an aggressive FPS player, in general, but not totally inexperienced, either ( 154 hours of Vermintide 2, for example) , so, this is from the POV of someone without a lot of experience to compare it to. Emitters is already more fun than many others I've dabbled in, in large part due to the bright, neon-lit, TRON-esque visuals; The enemies are, so far, all lit up in vibrant lights, and easy to spot pinpoint where the damage is coming from. This is not a drab, olive brown, mud-colored environment, and it stands out. I tend to suffer from not knowing where to go next in these games, but thanks to indicators and glowy lights, I know where I'm going, even outside of the tutorial. That said, just because you can see a drone or soldier doesn't make it easy to hit; this isn't a dumbed down experience, and it's not babysafe'd. One thing that could be common in games, for all I know, but have not seen it before this is the fact I can shoot enemies being generated or 3D-printed, or however it is they spawn. I can get a few shots in, if lucky enough to be near a unit being made, and can even get a kill before it gets a chance to fight back. That said, the creation spots are all over the map, so, you can't be that lucky every time; it's just a happy little thrill when it happens. One thing I know is worthy of praise even this early into it is the AI. The enemy drones and bots don't just charge in like a rushing bull into oncoming fire, and will dodge and even make use of walls/corners/cover to try and prolong their existence, so, just firing blindly is just going to eat through your ammo. Not a huge problem , though, as there's plenty of clips to be found as you run around the map. Heals are a little less frequent, but not so rare I feel shorted, and several other little boosts can be found, like temporary jump and speed enhancers. If you're looking for something frantic and high speed action, Emitters is worth a look, especially if you have fond memories of Quake, and the like. It has that oh-god,-run-run-run,-shoot-now!!! feel.
After racking up 30 hours of gameplay, I decided it was time to leave a review for this game. When it comes to reviews, I do not do many, but when it is really justified, then I will, be they good, or bad. Emitters is a great concept with a great backstory. Skynet part 2, Blade Runner style (the gameplay mechanic is not exactly blade runner, but the soundtrack itself is heavily inspired by Vangelis, and the intro is spookily similar. Yes, it is true, Hytek94 is a big Bladerunner fan) Gameplay itself is a very faithful fps experience, a return to a genre much forgotten in my honest opinion. The arena shooter concept. Each map is one big, big arena, filled with tons of aggravated drones and androids. It is your mission to put a stop to the virus that has made these drones turn against the people they are supposed to be protecting. Emitters is the corporation you must save, and save it, you shall. It will not be easy on the first run though, as each level will become more harder, enemies develop smarter AI, etc. The FPS sections have a great learning curve. Targeting is extremely rewarding, with nice satisfy explosions when you have slain your enemy. Level design is good too, to the point that you will get used to your surrounds and use those elements to better your combat skills. There is also a turret system at your disposal too, you will need to use EP (emitters points) to make use of them, and they can be earned. On the first playthrough, you must earn enough salvage, to make better weapons, and upgrade your abilities. Starting off without these, means you need to adapt, and that is where the turrets come in handy. The golden rule here is, use your surroundings to your advantage, quickly glance at your EP reserve, and when you need it the most, activate the turrets, they will save you from destruction. Yep, Emitters is a great game, and from a game developer with a great dream, which is becoming reality. Hytek94 is a nice guy, to be part of this game in some way is an honour. Just a word of warning though, the escape level is hard, it was hard for me, but if you have cat like reflexes then you should have no trouble doing it. I love the escape level because it goes against the grain of the gameplay, and I personally think, it was a good move, to challenge the player till the very end. Protect humankind, stop the Drones, Save your company.
Had a blast playing this on stream. Dev was nice and helpful in chat during my times of stupidity, although I didn't need too much help because of how the game explained how to play very well. The gameplay was intense and fun, and had me on my toes for a majority of the time. The futuristic nature of the game was wonderful to experience and incredibly immersive. There are bits of lore around the map if you look close enough too, which I thought was a nice touch. ggwp ♥ tldr; good game fun times, immersive atmosphere
Great game, I love shooting drones, I am interested to see how the story evolves in this game!
Played demo and it was very exciting action game BEFORE I bought full version. Game concept is so unique and fun, I did't feel bored. One of the coolest action game, satisfied with full version.
hola, esta bien el juego, entretiene, el mando va bien, los graficos me gustan, los drones variados y la dificultad va en aumento. tiene sus cosas mejorables pero como juego entretiene y hasta puede ser un reto(es mi opinion).
I had been watching this game for a bit and was glad to finally get a chance to play it, im in love with the indie fps/boomer shooter scene so it was right up my alley. A fast paced drone shooter with great dark sci-fi atompshere and a bussin electronic soundtrack. You go thru each arena trying to get batteries to charge up different chargers well trying to survive the endless wave of drones and Robots sent after you. As you progress in the game and level up you get even better weapons and mods and abilities And a Jetpack was added just recently as well! My only complaint is its on the shorter side content wise but Mickael is constantly working hard to add more content to it, (new weapon coming soon too) he is very open to listen to everyones ideas! also the last level is a great surprise and i wont say much more shhh... dont want to spoil yall but yeah check this game out and support this legend!
nice games for fps, but to high recoil *Edited for new V2.7 i didn't know why all weapon locked again when already clear all stage on previous version *Edited for Version 2.9.16 thank you still update this game, new update (especially the addition of new stages) was awesome, but that music still good as i know it here for some video : https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQlpnDiXEdBHCPwAaoKaTtqaWJIFABbYE&feature=shared
