...is a logic-based number-placement puzzle game. Complete various sudoku puzzles of increasing difficulty as fast as you can.
[h1]⚙ [u]Game Description & Mechanics[/u] ⚙[/h1]
Stardand sudoku puzzles are as follows: on a 9x9-cell grid separated into nine 3x3-cell boxes, place numbers from 1 to 9. You cannot repeat a number twice in the same row, column or 3x3-cell box. Some of the numbers are already filled, which will help you fill the rest: say a 5 is placed in a cell, you know there's no 5 on any other cells in the same row, column or box. Through a process of elimination, you fill the whole grid.
You have a total of 90 levels separated into three sections, each offering levels of six difficulty ratings going from Very Easy (over 40/81 pre-filled cells) to Insane (less than 25/81 pre-filled cells). You get a three-star rating when completing each level, which is determined by how fast you completed the puzzle and how hard it was to complete.
[h1]☺ [u]What I enjoyed[/u] ☺[/h1]
The game incentivizes you to replay the levels, the level selection screen showing the star rating and time record of each level without having to check them out one by one. You can even filter out solved levels, or hide only those for which you have already achieved a 3-star rating, making it much simpler to navigate the extensive list of puzzles and find the ones for which you'll want to try and do better.
[h1]☹ [u]What bothered me[/u] ☹[/h1]
There's some sort of glitch with controls that irritated me to the point of repetitively having to art the hardest puzzles from scratch: to mark potential answers in a cell, you must press Ctrl+Number. However, a glitch causes it to sometimes delete the entire cell, or the Ctrl key just not registering (resulting in the number being placed in the cell, deleting all the notes). I tried with multiple keyboards to make sure the problem wasn't a local issue. This can completely scrap your progress when you depend on those notes to determine answers. And since there's no undo button, it was extremely frustrating to work with, forcing me to try and remember anything written in a cell each time I type a note, slowing the progress to a crawl.
I have no idea what kind of aesthetics the game was trying to go for. The page art looks like a weird hand-drawn creature, the game itself has stock background pictures, the achievements look like it was taken out of a kid's alphabet hornbook. I'm also not sure why the game loses its settings each time I start it up, forcing me to head into the settings and turn Full Screen back on each time I booted the game, until I noticed the tiny top-left icon much later on.

[i]Super Turbo Sudoku[/i] is a terribly mediocre game, but it's not like I should expect a lot from a sudoku puzzle game. Furthermore, it's free. If you don't want to play web alternatives or pay for a sudoku, you can do worse than this game.
