This is just an early review to counteract the 1 extremely stupid negative review the game currently has until i get around to actually fully exploring this rerelease of the game. I have significantly more playtime on the game than it actually shows because i played the previous version which was removed from steam (had around 8 hours). Assuming the game is basically the same but just slightly improved, in which case this game is for sure a recommend. Give it a shot.
Looks like a horrible port of a PlayStation game. UI is forced Playstation layout No way to quit the game besides ALT- F4 Game does not teach you any of the moves. No tutorial , no context for how to do anything.
Super Rolling Heroes Deluxe is a fast-paced arcade platformer developed by Solid Neon Games and published by JanduSoft, built around a simple but addictive idea: controlling a spherical alien hero as it barrels down steep courses filled with destructible objects and dangerous obstacles. Instead of traditional platforming with jumping and climbing, the game revolves entirely around rolling, momentum, and physics-driven movement. Players guide the fragile rolling character through downhill levels while smashing through structures, avoiding lethal hazards, and reaching a glowing gem that marks the finish line. The concept might sound minimal at first, but the way the game combines speed, precision, and environmental destruction creates a surprisingly engaging arcade experience that rewards experimentation and quick reflexes. At the heart of the gameplay is the physics-based rolling mechanic. The player’s character behaves like a heavy ball that gains speed as it travels downhill, and maintaining control while building momentum becomes the central challenge. The faster the character moves, the easier it becomes to smash through houses, cars, and other objects scattered along the course. However, this same speed can also become dangerous, as the levels are filled with hazards such as spike fences and sharp obstacles that can instantly burst the fragile hero. This balance between acceleration and careful steering creates a constant sense of tension. Players must decide when to commit to high-speed destruction and when to slow down slightly to navigate narrow passages or avoid deadly traps. The game’s level design is structured around short but densely packed stages that encourage repeated attempts. Most levels can be completed in under a minute, yet achieving the best results often requires multiple retries. Along the path to the exit gem, players encounter numerous destructible objects that can be smashed to increase their completion rating. Breaking enough of these objects can unlock higher medals or rewards, turning each level into a score-chasing challenge as well as a platforming test. Because the physics system allows the rolling hero to bounce off surfaces and ricochet through the environment, players often discover creative routes through the stage that were not immediately obvious. The satisfaction of perfectly chaining together several collisions and smashing through an entire cluster of buildings before reaching the finish line becomes one of the game’s most enjoyable moments. Across the full campaign, the game features dozens of levels that gradually introduce new obstacles and gameplay twists. Early stages focus on basic movement and destruction, allowing players to become comfortable with the rolling mechanics. As the game progresses, the courses grow more complex, introducing tighter pathways, trickier slopes, and environmental hazards that demand more precise control. Some levels require players to carefully bounce their character into specific areas, while others emphasize speed and timing as the only way to break through particularly tough structures. Although the difficulty progression can occasionally feel uneven, the quick restart system makes it easy to jump back into a level and try again without frustration. Power-ups scattered throughout certain levels add extra layers of strategy to the gameplay. These temporary abilities may grant boosts in speed, electrical energy that enhances destructive power, or other effects that allow the rolling hero to break through objects that would otherwise slow them down. Because these power-ups can drastically change the behavior of the character for a short time, learning how to incorporate them into the flow of a level becomes part of mastering the game. When used correctly, they allow players to maintain momentum through sections that might otherwise stop the hero entirely, creating exhilarating moments where the character plows through obstacles with unstoppable force. Customization also plays a role in the game’s progression. As players complete levels and earn points, they unlock a large collection of cosmetic items that can be used to personalize their rolling hero. These customization options include hats, outfits, facial features, and other decorative elements that give the character a unique appearance. While these items do not influence gameplay mechanics, they provide a lighthearted reward system that encourages players to keep improving their performance in earlier stages. The wide selection of cosmetic pieces allows players to experiment with different looks, giving the small alien hero a bit of personality. Visually, Super Rolling Heroes Deluxe adopts a bright and cartoonish art style that fits perfectly with its energetic gameplay. The environments are colorful and playful, featuring exaggerated buildings, vehicles, and props designed to break apart dramatically when struck by the rolling hero. The visual clarity is particularly important given the speed of the gameplay, and the simple yet vibrant design ensures that players can easily identify obstacles and hazards while racing downhill. Watching entire sections of the level crumble as the character smashes through them creates a satisfying sense of chaos that reinforces the arcade nature of the experience. The audio presentation complements the action with upbeat music and lively sound effects. The soundtrack maintains a fast tempo that mirrors the speed of the gameplay, while the sounds of objects breaking and structures collapsing provide immediate feedback for successful destruction. Although the music and sound design are not overly complex, they help maintain the lighthearted tone of the game and contribute to the feeling of momentum that drives each level forward. Despite its strengths, the game does reveal some limitations typical of smaller indie projects. The absence of a detailed tutorial can make the early stages slightly confusing for new players who are still learning how the physics behave. Additionally, the game places very little emphasis on story or narrative context, focusing entirely on gameplay challenges instead. The difficulty curve occasionally jumps unexpectedly between levels, which may require several retries before players fully understand the best approach. However, because the levels are short and restarts are instantaneous, these challenges rarely become frustrating. Overall, Super Rolling Heroes Deluxe delivers a lively and satisfying arcade platforming experience that thrives on momentum, destruction, and quick reflexes. Its physics-driven mechanics, replayable level design, and cheerful presentation create a game that is easy to pick up yet surprisingly challenging to master. While it may not offer the depth or scale of larger platforming titles, its energetic gameplay loop and focus on skill-based challenges make it a fun and memorable indie release. Players who enjoy fast-paced arcade games and creative physics-based platformers will likely find themselves returning to its downhill courses again and again in pursuit of perfect runs. Rating: 7/10
