First off - I really need devs to understand that a lives system is not a game design system - it was a monetization system meant to steal quarters back during arcades and then continued on to pad game time during early games when you couldn't make large games. It has no place in modern games, especially ones where you are expected to die a lot. Outside of that, this is for the most part a fun game. It's not really a metroidvania, just a precision-platformer with abilities it is very linear. The reason I'm giving it a thumbs down is the final area that is just full of so much ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that don't seem to fit with the 2-hit points thing, nevermind the lives thing and it is VERY tedious to have to repeat 5 rooms for every new attempt. I finally gave up in one area demanding complete perfect play. You progress by combining jumping and doing an uppercut through blocks to advance, but those blocks unlike most platformers don't regenerate, so if you make even the slighrest mistake, you have to restart - which fine, but lives system & 2 hit points. I should add t hat 1 of those hitpoints can be regained, but you do so by hitting enemies, which is completely useless in platforming areas. The other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ area was one I couldn't even figure out how to get through, I only passed it by exploiting I-frames so I could skip almost the entire level. I'm probably pretty close to beating the thing, but ♥♥♥♥ this.

Excellent 2d platformer with a touch of metroidvania. Everything is just so polished and it's really great to see an indie studio put out high quality games like this. Great controls, jamming soundtrack with some awesome instrumentation, beautiful pixel art, interesting hub world with some fun side activities to earn money completion stuff and achievements, fun imaginative bosses, and a fantastic list of achievements. Unfortunately for me, the final area is brutal as the precision platforming gets way too difficult in my opinion. I made it to the final boss but holy crap. Either way, I really, really like this game a lot. Got all but 2 achievements. Still a fantastic 2d platformer even if you can't finish it like me! 😄
Jogo muito bom e divertido, só não dou nota 10, por que, se vc perder uma moeda no tutorial e não perceber, depois vc nunca mais consegue voltar la pra pegar! percebi quando ia entrar na sala do boss final! tive que resetar meu jogo pra pegar tudo, entao nota 8/10. Recomendo o jogo, mas preste atenção no tutorial pra não perder nada, são 14 moedas lá.
Super Mombo Quest is a 2D Precision Platformer about Mombo, a hero creature on a quest to restore the land and free it from the evil army. The game offers a metroidvania world interconnected zones that you need to progress through to find the boss of each zone and defeat it in order to acquire new powers to help you traverse previously inaccessible sections. The game combines both precision platforming while also maintaining the metroidvania element which is really a unique perspective. Super tight controls and flawless movements of the MC where you bounce, jump, dash and land on enemies heads to take em out, I haven't faced any single issues during my 100% playthrough, which is really amazing, it's really well polished to the point it got me addicted. 100% the game took me about 9 hrs to buy all upgrades, abilities, relics and farm coins for all 66 achievements which is not really bad at all, props to ORUBA team for making this amazing gem. The music and OST was very interactive and keeps you hyped all the times, I was jamming to the music the whole time during each map exploration as well as the boss fights. The boss fights were super nice and creatively designed, dodging and timing is really crucial as you have only 2 hits to die (can be extended later on with upgrades and relics). It's a really recommended 2D Precision Platformer if you're a big fan of this genre or 2D Platformers in general. Overall Rating 10/10

Zerei e platinei, é curtinho e bem tranquilo de fazer 100%. Não é um game difícil, é bem de boa, tem um sistema de mombo combo que é interessante e deixa o gameplay mais gostoso. Não é aquele jogo que vai te marcar pra sempre, mas é divertido. Colorido, fluido, gostoso de jogar. Por ser barato e br, vale muito a pena. Se você curte plataforma 2D e quer algo leve pra passar o tempo e ainda platinar, tá aí.
super mombo quest é com certeza um dos melhores jogos brasileiros que existe, esse jogo é extremamente charmoso e divertido, cômico de um jeitinho aconchegante. fico triste por essas horas de gameplay terem passado tão rápido, queria muito mais!! as fases desse jogo são focadas em fazer a mecânica principal do game, o mombo combo, que consiste em sair matando todos os inimigos da fase em sequência. algo que eu simplesmente AMEI, é extremamente satisfatório e divertido, tudo tem um ritmo delicioso e contínuo, e isso se deve porque sua gameplay é muito bem feita e funciona perfeitamente. além da gameplay, o que mais me chamou atenção foi sua pixel art, que é sensacional, bonita demais, animações muito fluidas, cenários extremamente bonitos, bem detalhados e personagens com designs lindos. além do próprio design do mombo e suas outras formas, ele tem essa carinha de bestinha e suas outras formas conseguem ser diferentes mas ainda com a essência do personagem. a exploração é uma delícia, eu realmente quis sair explorando cada canto do jogo, e me senti muito recompensada por isso. um dos principais fatores que faz com que um metroidvania te vicie e te faça gostar dele, é seu mapa com uma exploração recompensadora e divertida, o que em super mombo quest não deixou NADA a desejar!! eu AMEI esse jogo, é o que um videogame precisa ser, divertido, com uma arte linda e gameplay gostosinha. jogos de plataforma com exploração sempre ganham um espaço rápido no meu coração, e super mombo quest me conquistou muito rápido!! se você curte o gênero, eu recomendo fortemente que jogue esse game, além de apoiar a indústria brasileira na área dos jogos, você vai se divertir por horas e quem sabe se apaixonar assim como eu!! <3
Its not bad but not great either. The MV aspects aren't great, the map gives way too little information. There is a life system which is pretty stupid for a MV game and makes 0 sense. You get coins for upgrades but everything is WAYYYY too expensive, I played the game collecting most coins and I was still only able to get like 10% of upgrades. Each level is pretty much the same, kill enemies and collect gems for a coin to unlock later levels. The game is relatively short for a MV as well. Theres different forms with different abilities, some are pretty good, and theres the uppercut one which is super janky and finnicky and horribly designed. Some of the boss fights are decent, and the platforming works pretty well. Sometimes hitboxies and i-frames can be a bit wonky but its still not bad. The game also sometimes doesn't tell you where do go so you can get a bit lost. Overall game is inoffensive, has some positives and negatives. 7/10.
