Summer Scent

In English and... en français (plus bas): One of my favourite VNs, so it's inevitably subjective, but I'll still try to be informative and, I hope, relevant. A simple story and setting, essentially a summer week in the middle-class family home revolving around 3 protagonists, later 4. Intelligent character development (apart from Kelly, for now) and a unique variety of choices that will take your character down a multitude of distinct roads with their own scenes, evolutions and resolutions. It's in early access (a real one), so some routes aren't finished yet, but the developer knows where he's going, so just be patient (he's doing it in his spare time), and each update focuses on two or three routes, bearing in mind that he's got between 13 and 18 routes planned... funny, tender, twisted and unhealthy, hard, dramatic or/and pathetic routes. In short, it's full of surprises. There are no animated scenes here, and some beautiful erotic scenes, but the author gives priority to the characters and their stories, so don't linger if you're "only" interested in sex... If, like me, you like your choices to have REAL consequences, you'll love this VN. And a word of advice at the outset: remember that the character you're playing is a moron by default (only he doesn't know it), so it's up to you to decide whether to make him evolve for the better or for the worse ;) En français: Un de mes VN préféré, donc forcément subjectif, je vais quand même essayé d’être informatif et j'espère, pertinent. Une histoire et un contexte simple, essentiellement un huit clos pendant une semaine d'été dans la maison bourgeoise familiale autour de 3 protagonistes, plus tard 4. Un développement intelligent des personnages (à part Kelly, pour l'instant) et une variété unique de choix qui entraînera votre personnage dans une multitude de routes distinctes avec leurs propres scènes, évolutions et résolutions. Il est en early acces (une vraie), donc certaines routes ne sont pas encore aboutis, mais le développeur sait ou il va, soyez juste patient (il le fait sur son temps libre), chaque mise à jour se concentre sur deux à trois routes, sachant qu'il a prévu entre 13 et 18 routes... des routes drôles, tendres, tordues et malsaines, dures, dramatiques ou/et pathétiques. En bref, c'est plein de surprises. Pas de scènes animées ici, de belles scènes érotiques mais, l'auteur donne la priorité aux personnages et leurs histoires. donc, ne vous attardez pas, si "seul" le sexe vous intéresse... Si vous aimez, comme moi, que vos choix aient de VRAIES conséquences, vous adorerez ce VN. Et petit conseil de départ, sachez que le personnage que vous incarnez est un abruti par défaut (lui seul ne le sait pas), à vous de décider de le faire évoluer en bien ou en mal ;)

It's good, a lot of paths but they're not always easy to see what is the best route at times and I needed a walk through to achieve a lot of them

Many different paths/branches to explore. I wish the in-game walkthrough/"lighthouse" mode was a little more helpful and the gallery can be confusing, but overall a good beginning to a game that could be great in the long run.

If you want your Adult game to have a story and actual characters in it, this is for you. It's a Visual Novel in the style of 'choose your own adventure'. Sex scenes do not feel like a priority though and development time on this game is rather long. Plenty of different story routes to try out/follow, with some of them ending up 'not so nice.' That's becausee choices have actual consequences in this story. It's a good thing and will make you want tor replay the story to see what you missed out on. It even has a build-in walktrough if you want to be lazy about it.

Great story line looking forward to the next part

I just completed the first installment of this AVN, and all I can say is, "Thank God it's over." Between continuous expressions of guilt, remorse, and angst are tedious discussions about relationships that go nowhere. The story line is pat, a detective yarn you might find in a two-star movie late at night. I found myself rocketing through the story to see if there was anything worth my time. Sadly, there was not. Of possible interest were the points for "dominance" and "affection" accorded to the different characters, but just how those points affected their behavior remains questionable. Don't go looking for S&M stuff here, if that is what interests you. I would have gladly swapped the boring dialogue for decently contrived lewd scenes, but the few available left me . . . flat. Renders are fair at best, sexual interactions brief (and boring). The females are average in looks, nothing special. Unlike other AVNs, the females in Summer Scent have little or no emotional appeal. The main male character, Jack, is also forgettable. It should be obvious this is not an AVN I will be continuing.

This is a great way to get away from the reality of life. Dive into the almost realistic virtual life of Jack and control your path with simple choices.. Plus the girls are hot ;)

This visual novel has grown on me as I was initially turned off by stumbling down an unusual path playing blind. Since playing with the guided mode to experience all the different options it has quickly grown to be one of my favorite VN and I really appreciate all the extra work the developer has put into it. While many developers do the bare minimum to get their product out for a sale or just lack the talent, this VN has so many routes that I find myself coming back over and over to see what I can find.

[b]พออ่านได้เรื่อย ๆ แต่เนื้อหาไม่ค่อยมีอะไรน่าสนใจมากเท่าไหร่[/b] เรื่องราวเกี่ยวกับวัยรุ่นที่พ่อแม่ไม่อยู่บ้าน เลยได้ใช้เวลากับ LIs ทั้งสัปดาห์ เนื้อเรื่องก็จะมีอยู่แค่นั้นเลยครับ เดินเล่น นั่งคุยอยู่ในบ้านทั้งเกม บวกดราม่านิดหน่อย ข้อดีคือความสัมพันธ์ค่อนข้างมีตัวเลือกให้เยอะว่าอยากได้แบบไหน แล้วมี Tracker กันเลือกผิดทางได้ แต่พอทั้งเรื่องมันคือนั่งคุยกันในบ้าน แล้วพอ[u]ผมมีอารมณ์ร่วมกับตัวละครไม่ได้เลยไม่ได้ชอบเท่าไหร่[/u] ตัวเอกจะบอกว่าปอดแหกก็ไม่เชิง พอถึงเวลาจริงก็ทำ พูดได้ปกติ แต่พอจะทำอะไรสักอย่างแล้วต้องมานั่งมาด่าตัวเองตลอดจนผมรำคาญ แอนิเมชั่นส่วนใหญ่ก็ภาพนิ่งหมด และเนื้อเรื่องส่วนใหญ่จะเน้นไปที่การพูดคุย พยายามซ่อมแซม พัฒนาความสัมพันธ์ของเรากับ LIs ไปเลย ได้เห็นถึงมุมมอง ความคิดของตัวละครจริง ๆ แต่[u]เรื่องโดยรวมมันขาดสีสัน[/u] เพราะทั้งเรื่องมันอุดอู้อยู่ในบ้านทั้งเกม บรรยากาศเดียวทั้งเกม ถ้าชอบเรื่องที่ให้ตัวละครเหมือนจริงอาจจะพออ่านได้ แต่มันจืดจนผมเกือบเบื่อ ผมแนะนำเพราะเห็นได้ว่าตั้งใจเขียน แต่ว่าลดราคาจากเต็ม ๆ 300 บาทดีกว่าครับ

One of my all-time favorite story-focused AVNs out there. The Naught Captain's story telling is over the top and this AVN has hours and hours of content across all of its 18 routes. The way the Captain makes each route truly feel unique (with actions actually having consequences) and characters' personalities changing is a real joy. I have been playing this one for years well before Steam and Cap continues to deliver a fantastic story accompanied by gorgeous renders and LIs.
