Great game: battles are fluid, and the AI is stunning. The campaign scales very well and is both challenging and enjoyable. If your units don't show initiative, it is not the AI's fault, check you unit stats; also upgrade your commander skill for your lead troops. The HUD is intuitive and easy to follow. I highly recommend this game to any strategy-lovers.
really nice game... it has inovation... really has a lot of potential... But for now crashes ... crashes ... and more crashes... Update: There are not more update so far... and look like the company already "dissapear" ... so this is a death game, don't buy and hope that they are going to fix everything... This game really have the potential to be better than Total War Roma... but they just give up. The game really crash and quick you out all the time, from doing nothing to just a single click... Don't buy it.
Good game , the battle is just like the previous title which has almost perfect system for historic tactical battles, it refined a bit and feels more fluid especially the camera control. The nice add to this title is the camapign map which is played like Mount & blade system, all in real time, where you can recruit & upgrade your army, and also trade and seige castles, and many other things. There are RPG elements which are good add, you can enhance your hero abilities and thus can be reflected on your army or other aspects of the game, siege battles are fine but could be better. Graphics and overall atmosphere are great for such theme. However, the campaign map adds a lot as I mentioned previously, but the excution is really poor, the campign map feels so buggy, not realistic at all,for example robbers are like organized kingdom army that can crush you, the trade system feels unreal, the upgrade could be much better, and after sometimes you will feel extreamly bored from campaing and you just want to play those epic historic battles which were in Real Warfare 1242, thats why I would give 6 just because of the campaign, and I think if they make it like Total War game campaing but in real time it will be much better
I really want to recommend this game ,honestly. at the first 10 hours I really enjoyed the game mechanic even though many said it was terrified then the worst thing happened. it started to crashed rapidly ,mostly during you are sieging castles. I was trying to look away from this problem. but it's getting worse ,it crashes upon almost every of your actions. even when you loading saved gameplays I'vs tried every methods to fix this ,nothing worked it's not worth even a dollar
Описание:
Стратегия в реальном времени с элементами глобальной карты аля Mount & Blade. По сравнению с первой частью - вообще не оптимизированно, а так почти все тоже самое... Тобишь мусор, который в последнее время издает 1c. Combines Mount & Blade with Total War; kinda like the Red Orchestra 2 of strategy games. A unique and underrated title from a studio that went under before bugs were fixed. Buy it on sale you won't be dissapointed.
Одна из лучших стратегий детства из-за которой я полюбил данный жанр игр, но к сожалению осталась заброшенной и недоделанной разработчиками.
Real Warfare 2 is a strange game to recommend. I first tried the developers other game XII century which just didn't work properly. Since i am a sucker i decided to pick this game up as well thinking that i could return it if it didn't work properly. And guess what, i seem to be one of the lucky ones because after i disabled AA to prevent the screen from turning black the game have worked quite well. So consider this a warning if you are interested in the game. After you have purchased it quickly verify that it works properly for you and if not return it with no second thought. With that out of the way i have actually enjoyed my time with the game. I would decribe it as some strange mix between a more story driven mount & blade with the battles from the total wars games. You travel around the map doing missions. trading, raiding and maintaining your troops. There are some light rpgs mechanics and as your level up the size of the army you can lead will increase and you can choose between some passive buffs. There is nothing really amazing here however it works alright and as a whole i found the package quite charming. I think that they should have done more with the map mechanics though because when my playtime started to reach the 10 hour mark i started to feel like i was just moving from battle to battle. Some people might be fine with that but i need more things to keep me engaged. Some other notes

The story is not worth talking about
I was once told to defend a bridge however the actually bridge battle turned out not to contain a bridge at all. There were some siege battles but more varied battlefields really helps to make the game more interesting.
Trade is a must in my experience. Maintaining your troops cost a lot of money and i found myself abusing the trade system to keep my army functional.
How about the battles? Well at best of times the battles are fun and similar to what most people have experienced with the total war games with a bit more focus on morale. Sometimes though there are problems.

Units not going where you want them to go or units walking when you want them to run etc.
pathfinding in the cities are a mess at times
Morale is interesting however sometimes it works strangely and it can be frustrating.
Overall i had a good time with this game and the game is dirt cheap during sales. If it wasn't for the game breaking technical problems a lot of people seems to have i would recommend it without a second thought. I would still give a cautious recommendation since the game is fun and it is not like creative assembly have a lot of competition in this genre.
Turn off Psuedo HDR to get the missing textures to show up on modern systems. Fun game, mount and blade meats total war
TLDR Real Warfare : "Northern Crusades" Review
"Northern Crusades" was released in 2011,one year after "Real Warfare 1242" and it has the same exact engine, same exact UI,same exact maps, same exact units, same exact graphics and the same exact gameplay. It even has the same crashes and bugs as the first game. Here is my review of the first game with a link on how to fix the black screen that occurs on nvidia graphic cards https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198034782339/recommended/46350/ . Even if the game is the same as the one released in 2010,it still has no siege maps.Manevouring units is still clunky probably because the terrain is too rough or badly scripted.Clicking on one spot may send units on the other side of the map for no apparent reason. Unlike the first game,"Northern Crusades" has a campaign story and map similar to Total War games. On this map you can only control one general at the begining. You cannot control the larger strategy of states only this one particular general. The campaign has a bland storyline and RPG elements like hiring troops, upgrading them, looting enemies after they have been defeated and equipping units with items. Also some items give a morale boost to your troops. This game builds on the first one and is actually better but still feels like a Total War game from 2005 in Alpha stage.
