I was planning to leave a review after finishing the campaign, but since the game came out today I'd rather help it now and revise later! Sugar Shatter is basically 1v1 competitive brick breaker, where you need to hit the ball to make it your color in order to smash the bricks. You can also stun your opponent and you have ultimates to control the flow of the match. The first impression is great, every character is colorful and the game flows well. I wish there was a training mode of sorts. The single player campaign is quite interesting and has the player compete with CPU opponents in order to unlock all other characters and win trophies. They are all available for local versus and online versus, but they are only selectable in the campaign once they are defeated. Speaking of the campaign - it has bosses and minigames too, and lot of banter between the characters, plus stats to upgrade and even reruns against the bosses with extra modifiers. Some characters are admittedly more annoying to fight - the gal with the whip that messes up your positioning is a highlight of dirt - and I can't imagine how terrifying it could be when played against another human. Now, for the things that might need some addressing: [list] [*]If you lose against a boss, you can't continue and need to wait until you meet them again in another run [*]There is no CPU difficulty selection for the campaign [*]Some minigames require a better explanation (e.g. the fishing minigame) [*]It would be great to have a easy way to select the P2 character when playing against the CPU. It can be done, but I found the process a little convoluted. [/list] But these are pretty minor things. The game controls well and it's a breath of fresh air despite some minor issues, so I'd honestly recommend checking it out.

i'm in love with this game!! some of the fights are so intense that i am literally sweating balls by the end but then the cute artwork and addicting music balances it out. you can really tell how much effort the developer put into this game AND it has local and online multiplayer!!

Very Fun.

This game is mesmerizing and addictive, and the characters are all so cute and well-designed with unique personalities! My favourite so far is Rabbit - protect him at all costs. The soundtrack slaps and I'm also enjoying seeing what surprises show up in each level. Can't wait to keep progressing and see how it all unfolds!

This game is honestly so fun, I really like how much effort the developer spent on the amazing artwork as well as the gameplay. I love the multiplayer mode and playing with my friends online, I definitely think Sugar Shatter has the ability to become viral amongst the other platform fighting games!

Easy to pick up, but with surprising depth. Fun campaign but really shines in multiplayer
