Suddenly Match 3. Suddenly Fantasy. Suddenly Fairys. Suddenly Demon. Suddenly Meow!!! Welcome to SUDDENLY MEOW 2! Tim is back! What? You don´t know Tim? Don´t worry, Me didn´t know either when i got this Game. XD So, Tim is a Cat, starring first in, what a surprise, SUDDENLY MEOW 1. In his first Adventure Tim got stucked in a magical Forrest. Now a bad, baaaaaad Demon escapes from his Prison and is threatening the Forrest and its inhabitants. He is hunting especially 2 Fairys, because they imprisoned him. Can Tim again meow, ehm save the Day? It is up to YOU! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2835317898 SUDDENLY MEOW 2 may look in first place like a typical Match 3 Game, but it isn´t. Most Match 3 Games focus on Cleaning Squares Level after Level, but not SUDDENLY MEOW 2. Suprisingly varied and challenging Levels are waiting for you. In each Level you have to Guide Tim on his Way. With the Help of Match 3 Combinations you can create Paths for Tim to reach his Goals. This can be getting Fishes or Yarn Ball. That goes also for the Battle Levels against the Demon. Sometimes you have other Quests like surrounding Piranhas with Lava to beat them. Obstacles like Rocks or Crates didn´t make it easier for you. Easy to learn, but sometimes hard to master. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2835317338 You can also choose to play the chilling way or against the Clock. From Time to Time you will encounter Minigames like Puzzles or Hidden Object Scenes that provide variety. The Graphics are wonderfull, colourfull and the nice Soundtrack fits also perfectly in. The Story is nice and is guiding you through 90 Levels. Oh i forgot. You will also earn Money, that you can spend on buying nice Things for Tims Hideout. Very nice done Place. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2835317144 It can be beneficial to be sick. Lying in Bed i have had enough time to play it to the End. It wasn´t really 12 Hours to finish it, i felt alseep one time because i was too exhausted from my illness, so i don´t know how much Time i really spend on. But i can say one Thing, SUDDENLY MEOW 2 is a really good and challenging Match 3 Game, absolutly different from most of its kind and feels really great and charming. I have had so much fun with beating the Levels and upgrading Tim´s Hideout and so will you. Thanks to the Developer for inviting me to Tim´s second Adventure and saving my Day. And thank YOU for Reading. Meooooooow!!!! suddenly meow 2 is the largely identical sequel to the great first game (if you can overlook the title and the cat). the big bad evil creature is free again, so time to get rid of him one more time. and also protect some fairies, they're new. there's an optional 4-level tutorial, then 90 match-3 levels unlocked one by one, though there's a skip button, so you can come back to tougher levels later. they can be played on relaxed, limited moves and timed modes, which can be changed anytime. there are also 18 mini-game levels, hidden object, matching halves and jigsaws. for the most part it's generic match-3 stuff with crates, conveyor belts and whatnot, but also plenty of more unique mechanics. well, less unique after the first game, but there's a bunch of new things too, all explained in the extensive help book and as they appear on levels. overall difficulty is lower than in the original, but more puzzly mechanics mean levels can be failed even without a time or move limit, so think ahead. this is probably why auto-matches (cascades, combos, whatever you call them) don't destroy stuff, as you have to be more methodical. you might have to create a path for tim (the cat) to reach something by matching around him, the fish and already existing path tiles. water tiles are out and paths disappear after 20 moves, which can be frustrating. or charge magnets that attract stone blocks for some reason. or clear pipes so tim can quickly travel through it, possibly onto a see-saw ('jumper') for a quick lift further away. or repair said pipe by bringing a hammer to the broken section. buttons reveal additional tiles, but one variety hides them again after 7 turns. now that's annoying. the star rating system is less conventional too: get one for completing the level and the others for matching next to the open side of star tiles. again, auto-matches don't work. a better rating means more power-ups and coins and later stages can have more than 3 stars, some even hidden. power-ups are created by matching 4 or more of the same thing, and just like in the first game, they're a bit weird. right click switches between all of them (the game calls this morphing), so in each case you can choose between bomb, dynamite or destroying a specific tile. they charge magnets and pushers immediately but they're static, can't be moved a few lines lower or anything. 3-starring a level grants a bonus power-up to use at your own convenience. I think this is the only way to get masks, which replace any tile on the board. and if you want an experience free of power-ups, they can be disabled completely. gotta love options. tim has to face the big bad a few times while exploring the forest, so turn-based combat is still part of the game and it works slightly differently this time. matching will only do so much damage, hurling bombs at the enemy is a lot more effective and you can heal by grabbing fish. having to create paths already increases difficulty, but bombs have a turn limit, then they explode on the board. they won't hurt you but won't hurt the enemy either. tim's attributes are health and attack power, plus there are fairies to assist now, their refill rate is the third factor. unfortunately, all they do is dump more bombs and fish on the board once their bar is filled by matching. of course, the enemy also attacks every few turns, but the really annoying things is it also moves every few turns, so bombs won't always connect. coins are created by matching 5 or more things and are also awarded for stars and completing mini-game levels, plus for remaining time or moves on regular ones if you're not playing on relaxed. they're used for prettying up tim's hideout (wonder what happened to the previous one, though this has brick walls, much better) and buying extra time or moves. items in the hideout also increase tim's stats, so they're not just cosmetic. settings in the main menu (and sadly only there) cover the basics of windowed mode, resolutions and separate volume sliders, but there are more options while playing. the aforementioned power-up customization includes toggles for generating power-ups, as well as their capability to destroy breakable stuff and if they morph automatically or only with right click, and at what speed. their mouseover tooltip can also be disabled, just like context help (it explains level-specific mechanics at the bottom), plus there's a slider to set how often you want matching hints, if at all. as I said above, gotta love options, but I'd really like a coin animation toggle too, it's a bit over the top. it's a really good spin on the genre in the ocean of lazy reskins, even though this sequel is barely more than that as well. still, it's only two games against a billion others, done really well. easily recommendable.
I hope you don't give up the game based on 30 mins of playing - although, if you're looking for a numbing run-of-the-mill simple match-3, then this game is not for you here you need to strategically plan your moves to reach the goals of the level - I like a challenge, so I'm playing limited moves without generating power-ups on the board (they're generated as a default, but you can disable them in the options - I'm still playing the game and find I have to restart levels to get all gold stars - there is an option to buy more moves, though there are three modes - relaxed, limited moves and timed I suggest you follow this developer's games because they have twists and turns other match-3 games I'm familiar with don't have- these games include Spooky Dwellers, Nocturnarya and Garden for Glory that come to mind oops the last two aren't available on Steam as of now I love the game and recommend it to all who want more from a match-3 game
Gameplay

Bugs?
Nein, bisher keine gesehen.
Grafik

Follow Main group
Follow Second group
Weitere Rezensionen von mir
(-> meine kleine Minikuratorengruppe:
《Suddenly Meow 2》

https://youtu.be/40EPzUlOBcg Tim the cat may be the hero we deserve but the gameplay loops offered are not engaging enough to pull players through the story.
This isn't your typical M3 game. It's actually a puzzle game using a M3 mechanic. The object of most of the 90 levels is to create pathways using your moves so the hero cat, Tim, can get to fish or yarn balls. This often involves using gadgets to manipulate items in the playfield before you can even make the moves for a pathway. And the pathway only lasts for a number of moves before it disappears, so you can't just be mindlessly making moves wherever. Tim is on a quest to protect the forest and forest fairies from an evil presence and must sometimes fight the bad guy using a similar mechanic to toss bombs at the baddie. Occasionally, there are other levels in which you "fish" by other means. And every once in a while, you do get a "traditional" M3 level of clearing all the tiles. Every level features 3-4 optional stars for the completionists. In between levels, you sometimes get a minigame (HOS, swap piece style jigsaw puzzle, match up the halves) to earn extra gold coins. The gold coins earned from minigames and playing the regular levels are used to build Tim a "hideout", where the item purchases also improve Tim's battle skills, so it's not just a throwaway optional thing as you will definitely need the skills upgrades especially late in the game. While the levels start out baby easy, the puzzles become surprisingly challenging for such a simple looking game. You will have to think a few moves ahead to crack the hard puzzles, and there is no indication given if you've made the level impossible to solve by doing things in the incorrect order. There is no mid-level save feature, but the levels aren't gigantic, so if you have good puzzle solving skills, should be able to do even the hard levels in 10-15 minutes. There is a pretty good amount of customization you can do to suit your taste, although it is not at the level of sophistication some of the later IKIGames releases have. If you enjoy puzzle games and M3s, highly recommended.
excellent match 3 game but the introduction of new play mechanics is too often. would be more enjoyable to play a few levels where you don't have to learn something new.... gets to the point where there is too much.
