Reviews

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Very Good!

I was looking at Blaze respectfully.
Worst game in the franchise. This is supposed to be a love letter to Streets of Rage, but it feels like a failed attempt at modernising a beloved game by people who fundamentally do not understand or do not care about what made it so beloved in the first place. For context, I have 130 hours on this game on a seperate platform. I bought this game again because despite how much I hate it, it's still Streets of Rage. Now, why do I consider this to be the worst game in the franchise? First of all, this doesn't feel like "Streets of Rage 4", it feels like "Streets of Rage 2: The Remake". I understand that SOR2 is the fan favourite and the most popular title, but it feels extremely neglectful to SOR1 and SOR3. The retro soundtrack option is the most obvious example of this. You'd think that they'd use all the tracks available to them to make as best of a cohesive listening experience, right? Wrong, they just exclusively use SOR2 tracks, and any missing spots they have they use the Game Gear port soundtrack. The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Game Gear. Are you kidding me? It completely took me out of the experience with the game constantly switching back and forth between the excellent 16-bit Mega Drive composition, to going to 8-bit bleeps without any rhyme or reason. Another issue is how they sometimes re-use a song twice, like how Back To The Industry is used in Stage 4 and Stage 7's boss fights. You LITERALLY had TWO OTHER ENTIRE GAMES TO PULL FROM. And this isn't even me getting into the gameplay yet. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ despise the combo system. This genuinely might be the worst, most infuriating implementation of a combo system I've ever seen or experienced in a video game. You rack up a higher combo by dealing damage and hits to enemies without the combo timer expiring, however here's the issue. If you get hit ONCE, your combo breaks, and you get no score at all. Now, on paper this doesn't seem incredibly terrible. You're rewarded for avoiding damage. Here's the thing though, Streets of Rage is not a game designed around no-damage runs being at all feasible by any normal, reasonable means. Between humanly un-reactable enemy attacks, your moves having enough endlag to be punished by any random enemy running up to you DURING the endlag with you being unable to do anything about it, and enemies generally being extremely erratic and inconsistent with their moves and behaviours, not taking damage is basically nigh impossible. If you want to get a high score and rank, you're going to have to purposefully let your combo end just so you don't risk taking damage because of something you could not prevent. Also, this one's more of a pet peeve, why do you need to input a secret code to get Roo? This one's not that much of an issue, more so just something that personally pisses me off. That's my favourite character and I had to google a secret input just to unlock them, AND buy the DLC to get to them, when every other retro character is unlockable without buying the DLC. Seriously? And on that note, why is Skate just not mentioned at all? Adam wasn't playable in SOR2 or SOR3, but he was at least mentioned or part of the story in a minor way. Skate is just completely forgotten. Real nice, guys. And Dr. Zan is delegated to being the lore justification for the Survival DLC existing. This game isn't a love letter to the Streets of Rage franchise. It's a bunch of Streets of Rage 2 fanboys making something that disregards everything else about the rest of the franchise, for better or for worse.
More addictive than caffeine.
