I have no idea why literally NO ONE in the discussions or reviews tells you that the game is actually broken and unbeatable right from the tutorial, the button "Leave the shop" stops working right after you do a first costume upgrade during the tutorial. Tried many times, even changed to Japanese - it's the same every time. It seems to be there was supposed to be a dialogue that should appear after upgrading, but it doesn't. Version 1.18 - the latest one. SteamDB says the latest update was made in July 10, it seems that update broke the game.

Story of Eve - A Hero's Study is an anime-inspired role-playing game developed by SmallSqurriel and published by Mango Party. It presents a fantasy adventure that emphasizes personal growth rather than an epic battle to save the world. Players take control of Eve Rukia, a determined young adventurer who dreams of becoming a capable hero worthy of standing beside the legendary figure she admires. This simple but effective premise creates a story focused on perseverance, self-improvement, and the challenges of becoming stronger through experience. While the overall narrative remains lighthearted, it successfully gives players a clear motivation to continue progressing through Eve's journey. The gameplay revolves around classic RPG mechanics, combining dungeon exploration, turn-based combat, equipment management, and character progression into a streamlined experience. Every expedition rewards players with new items, resources, and experience points that gradually expand Eve's capabilities. The progression system is one of the game's greatest strengths, as each improvement feels meaningful. Unlocking stronger equipment and developing Eve's attributes creates a satisfying sense of advancement, making players feel that every battle contributes to her transformation from an inexperienced adventurer into a confident warrior. Combat strikes a comfortable balance between accessibility and tactical decision-making. Battles require players to manage equipment, select appropriate actions, and prepare for increasingly dangerous encounters without becoming overwhelmingly complicated. One of the more distinctive features is the visual representation of Eve's equipment, with her appearance changing depending on the gear or combat form currently equipped. This adds personality to the customization system while reinforcing the connection between progression and gameplay. The inclusion of both manual dungeon exploration and automatic navigation also provides welcome flexibility, allowing players to either carefully explore every encounter or speed through familiar areas when grinding for levels and resources. Dungeon exploration focuses primarily on combat and progression instead of intricate puzzles or complex navigation. The environments encourage continuous advancement by rewarding exploration with better equipment and opportunities to strengthen Eve's abilities. Although some dungeon layouts eventually become repetitive, the game's automation features help reduce unnecessary backtracking and repetitive gameplay. This thoughtful quality-of-life design keeps the adventure moving at a comfortable pace and makes the overall experience more approachable for players who prefer steady progression over lengthy grinding sessions. Visually, the game embraces colorful anime-inspired artwork that gives both the protagonist and supporting cast plenty of charm. Character illustrations are expressive, and the costume variations tied to equipment create an appealing sense of progression throughout the adventure. Enemy designs and fantasy environments may not rival the production values of larger RPGs, but they successfully establish a cohesive world that complements the game's light fantasy atmosphere. Combined with a pleasant soundtrack that supports exploration and combat without becoming distracting, the presentation consistently maintains an enjoyable tone from beginning to end. The story itself remains centered on Eve's development rather than elaborate political conflicts or world-ending threats. Her desire to earn recognition through hard work provides an engaging emotional foundation, and the narrative mixes adventure, humor, fantasy, and mature content into a character-focused experience. Rather than relying on dramatic twists, the game succeeds by allowing players to witness Eve's gradual growth as both a fighter and an individual. While the storytelling may not offer the complexity or branching paths found in larger RPGs, its straightforward approach works well within the game's overall design. Despite its many enjoyable qualities, Story of Eve - A Hero's Study does have some limitations. Players seeking highly strategic combat systems, expansive open-world exploration, or deeply layered storytelling may find its mechanics relatively modest. Extended play sessions can also reveal repetitive dungeon structures and familiar combat encounters. Additionally, its mature themes clearly target a specific audience and may not appeal to every RPG fan. Nevertheless, these aspects are consistent with the game's intended focus and are balanced by its accessible systems and rewarding progression. Overall, Story of Eve - A Hero's Study delivers an entertaining character-driven RPG experience built around satisfying progression, approachable combat, and charming anime presentation. Its emphasis on gradual improvement, flexible gameplay options, and enjoyable customization creates a rewarding adventure that respects players' time while maintaining a consistent sense of accomplishment. Although it does not attempt to compete with larger-scale role-playing games in terms of scope or complexity, it successfully fulfills its own vision by offering a fun and engaging journey centered on a likable heroine striving to become the hero she dreams of being.
Story of Eve is a short rock paper scissors horni game about being a hero. Really its just that simple, the game play is easy to understand, and getting through all the games is easy. The art however is actually smooth and clean. For its price Story of Eve is a competently made game, so I think I would recommend it for a quick time killer.
