"Storm over the Pacific" is basically a copy + paste turn based wargame (the developer has a number of these on Steam, all the same). The developer worked on this while they have other Early Access titles in the works. If you try to take this seriously, which you shouldn't, you'll be confronted by a launcher that is doing HTTPS pulls without a valid certificate, so you get browser errors, and the experience goes downhill from there. It's clumsily, horribly imbalanced with design decisions that make zero sense... it's not fun, it's clunky, and none of that should be any surprised given the copy + paste nature of this shovelware. I'm not kidding about that, the game exe internal title is "Fall Weiss", from one of the other flips of this exact same game template. What a joke that gamers should have to put up with this low effort trash. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals. The game features somewhat lazy, simplistic 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort Flash/browser games and mobile apps. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. The developers didn't design the game for modern gaming PCs, as such the display resolution caps out at 1080p, a very low resolution that became mainstream back in 2006 and became obsolete when 4K entered the mainstream in 2014. The game simply won't look right on modern gaming displays due to this failure on the part of the developers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this only appears around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards. "1953: NATO vs Warsaw Pact" has the completely unrealistic cash grab price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product. Just play Hearts of Iron.

This game doesn't have any guide to know how to play! I bought this game for 0.34€ with coupons! I don't see much point in the game, but it was worth it for the Trading cards!

Its actually a hidden gem. There is an easy fix for the crashes, when selecting a naval unit, do not have the attack or unit panel selected. Its a shame that the developer abandoned these games, the AI was excellent, and the detail was pretty good, but not overwhelming. I think I have hundreds of hours in the Europe one, and after 8 years, yes, you read that right, I am now excited to get back into this because of that amazing work around for the crashes that was posted in the forums years ago.
