so the game basically boils down like this: You can buy tower upgrades attack speed and damage (useful), castle hp and regen (useless) there's a little finesse to keeping your damage high enough to 1-shot normal enemies while maxxing attack speed, but only a little. When you beat a boss you get to pick one of two of the following upgrades: ricochet: absolutely required in the first 2 upgrades or you lose attack speed: usually survivable, because the way the game scales, may be completely OP if you can get like 3 of them attack damage: instant game loss on first upgrade, but potentially survivable later castle health: instant game loss castle regen: instant game loss game is unclear about the claim to "get stronger every run" it seems like your starting money is based on how well you did last time, but at a magnitude that doesn't really matter. so that's basically the game. you wait 5 minutes and see if you hit the 40% chance to actually play, or if you just lose. then repeat until you lose or win. I can't recommend the experience, even for free

The game takes about 10 minutes to complete and isn't even remotly challenging. If this was what the author was going for then it's fine, 6/10. However in the descrpition Stonehold is called a "rogue-lite" which would imply some kind of meta-progression between runs that is not present in the game. Additionally Stonehold's desciption promises "Fast-paced strategy and high replayability" neither of which are present. There are only 4 upgrades: Damage, Attack Speed, Health and Regen. The last 2 are completely useless as you can boost your damage output to a point of not taking a hit throughout the entier playthrough. There are little to none strategic choices or variety between playthroughs. In the current version of the game there were 2 things worth improving on: 1. Give enemies health indicators - I tried to have enough damage to 1 shot enemies, but it was tedious to track since enemiy HP changed pretty dynamically and wasn't visible. 2. Bounce bug? - The first bullet fires, and kills an enemy then bounces. The second bullet locks onto an enemy and fires, then that enemy dies from the bouncing first bullet, which results in second bullet shooting an empty space. This scenario happend quite often with the bounce upgrade. If this game is supposed to keep getting new content here are some suggestions: 1. Meta-progression - Part of the rogue-lite appeal is getting stronger with every run, which is not currently the case. This would give the game more content and incentive for players to play it many times. 2. More unique upgrades - Here are i mean the upgrades that you can choose from like Bounce. Currently Bounce is the only one that isn't just a simple stat buff. Coming up with more unique upgrades will make the game more entertaining and introduce more strategy. 3. Adjustable game speed - Currently the game feels a bit slow, especially in the beginning. Giving the player an option to change to a 2x or 3x speed would enchance the experience. 4. Activated abilities - In the current version there isnt't much to do outside of clicking upgrades as soon as you have enough gold. Activated abilites would give the player an additional thing to due + strategic potential to use it in the right moment. 5. Different weapons - Adding different weapons besides the cannon would add more variety and make the upgrade process less linear, since now there is an option to upgrade more than just the one weapon.

Game had the chance to be quite a good one but it is so small of a game - took me 9 mins to complete whilst half tabbed out and paused whilst working........ Don't waste 10mins of your life for a small hit of a game wait until this gets more (if it does)
Concept is good - but you play for a single tower. 10 Min for win - that the fun while it last
I mean it's a pretty basic game and free but explains nothing, has no settings/options other than audio, I don't understand how the gold works after each run. I did some tests and the gold seemed completely random. I did some where I spent everything I could and ended with less than I had left over. I did some where I spent nothing and ended with a lot less than I had during the run. Idk what they had planned for the gold but that system sucks ass. It should be pretty basic, just keep all the gold you had left over from the previous run and use it at the start of the next run or save it up. Instead it feels like you're getting a completely low, random amount after each run and saving it up basically did nothing.
Hi. So I sucked at this game. Checked the comments. One said, that only speed and damage is needed. I came back to game. Did that. At first it was good. Later there was too many monster and they hit my life - points and I lost the game again. So life and regeneration are important too in future. But I got further with speed and damage advice. But sometimes it is survival - to have more health than enemy can take. Survival is important too. Also I picked at first speed perk and later power perk. Too many monsters, not enough speed and I lost... health low and bye bye. This is a good game. Thank you. It is fun. EDIT: I won the whole game. I got the REBOUNCE and I won. No monster hit my lifepoints. : O And I upgraded life and regen for nothing. REBOUNCE was game changer x DDD
Funny game. Short and not too hard. Now for the downsides: Sometimes after defeating a boss you get duplicate skills The cannon doesn't shoot quite right the projectiles just miss their target
