The art style in this game is so unique and fun. I loved the music and enjoyed wandering around this new world. The fights were challenging, but I am getting better. The story line so far is entertaining and the character voices really fit their personality. I look forward to getting deeper into the game.
“What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?” -Vincent van Gogh
Stitched Together - A charming indie RPG full of heart Stitched Together really surprised me in a positive way. At first glance, it looks like a small indie RPG with a minimalist art style, but the more you play, the more you realize how much content and heart has actually been put into this game. You follow Gwen, a college student who returns to her small hometown during the summer holidays, spending time with her friends before a new chapter of her life begins. The story starts off pleasantly grounded and portrays the challenges of young adulthood in a very relatable way. This is exactly what makes the characters feel so likeable and authentic. The dialogue is well-written and fits perfectly with the relaxed tone of the game. Not everything is voiced, but the most important scenes are – and the English voice acting feels natural and pleasant rather than overly polished. Over time, you get to know Gwen’s circle of friends more and more. Each character has their own personality and represents different lifestyles and social themes. This creates a strong group dynamic, which is also reflected in the gameplay: by improving relationships, you unlock shared abilities in combat. The turn-based combat offers more depth than expected. Each character has multiple skills, and there are also many team attacks, which adds a lot of variety. Outside of combat, there are small puzzles and a charming world that combines 3D environments with 2D elements. Without spoiling too much: the story gradually evolves into something much larger, with interesting twists as well as emotional and serious themes. I especially liked how realistic the characters’ problems feel and how relatable many of the conversations are. You can even take something away from them. The soundtrack is a real highlight – featuring a retro charm, at times reminiscent of Undertale, with very catchy melodies. Battle music and calmer tracks are well balanced and stay in your head. Technically, the game ran smoothly for me without any issues. Conclusion: Stitched Together is a charming indie game that definitely deserves more attention. It is packed with content, heart, and attention to detail. If you enjoy relaxed RPGs with likeable characters, good music, and an emotional story, you should definitely give this one a try. Finally, I would like to sincerely thank the development team for providing our curator group with a review key. I am very glad I had the chance to play this lovely game, and I hope my review helps more people discover it. Thank you for reading. REVIEW EDITED I love the style and individuality of this SP RPG, it's delightful to look at and play. It's also different in that it's kind of a puzzle RPG in that as well as levelling up and following a main quest, you'll need to complete mini-quests similar to point and click adventures along the way to help you unlock the travel-by-map needed to progress. But those aesthetics, they're great - a kind of 2D Parappa in a 3D(ish) world where your view is restricted to always forwards, your movement is restricted and you feel like you're in a comic book. I guess this will frustrate some trad 3D RPG players but it's very much a part of how the game works and once you get that, you'll work out how to use it to your advantage, such as battle avoidance (or purposeful battle to grind up stats) It's not too grindy though, the battles are traditional turn play and in the rare event you get defeated you can restart and try a different approach. You do need to take some fights to ensure you level up enough but we're not talking about kill 90 badgers levels of grind! The game does well in making you know roughly how powerful you are with few sudden leaps in enemy difficulty. There's a nice - if slightly trope-y - range of regular and special moves which become more malleable as your party grows. The characters and dialogues are well written and interesting and the RPG mechanics solid, I like where the story is going (probably about 2/3 of the way through as I write.) You can tell that a lot of effort has gone into this aspect while also respecting the player - every dialogue is relevant (no [...] to be found thankfully!) and it is all voiced as well as written, but I really appreciate how you can quick-skip the voice and read the whole dialogue quickly if you like. Player friendly game mechanics are a massive plus to me. No over-long cutscenes either, another plus point. It's new, different and charming in every way and I liked what it's doing so I will for certain complete it. It's evident that thoughtful design has been put into the whole game, from puzzles to art, from writing to gameplay. It's a very satisfying play which feels very professionally made. To make a kinda weird comparison it plays like the South Park RPGs (but wholesome - oops, sorry!) while offering a Stranger Things or Goonies vibe with the rag-tag group of teen protagonists, and that feels very 'right' Highly recommended, but if you think it's a touch pricey be aware that you'll get more than a dozen hours out of this, probably 20 - and a sale price at around £8 would be a bargain. NB: I have not experienced the sound issues mentioned by some reviewers, so that may not be a thing all players find as an issue
Gameplay : https://youtu.be/Jtlfv9o6iW0 I had a really great time playing ihe game. It is actually like persona games. The game does a fantastic job combining a charming story with unique RPG mechanics. The idea of switching between the real world and the mysterious “Fabric” dimension is incredibly creative and keeps exploration interesting the entire time. The characters feel alive and memorable, especially Gwen and her friends. I loved how the relationship system allows you to build bonds between party members and unlock special abilities together, which adds a lot of strategy and personality to the combat. The world design is colorful and full of secrets, and discovering how actions in one world affect the other is very satisfying. The turn-based battles are engaging, and the combination skills between characters make every fight feel dynamic instead of repetitive. Overall, this is a really charming indie RPG with heart, creativity, and a lot of character. If you enjoy story-driven RPGs with unique ideas and memorable characters, **Stitched Together** is definitely worth checking out. Highly recommended!
Really love the sound track for this already and the battles feel smooth and fun. Love stacking buffs for big hits the most so far. Props to the voice actors and the story, as well, coupled with a fun and original style this is really solid game. 8.5/10
Gwen returns to her hometown for the summer to take a break from her studies. Her dad lives there alone after her mom left, and he wants her to pursue a safer career as an accountant. Gwen, however, would rather work in journalism because she loves taking photos. Her attention to detail helps her notice that certain things around town have started to go missing. The game’s world consists of small square scenes or maps designed to look like cardboard cutouts. You can move around freely, but the camera is fixed to your character and cannot be moved or rotated. Objects and scenery usually disappear when your character moves behind them so you can see where you are going. However, there are still many situations where objects block your view and do not become transparent. Exits are not clearly marked unless you count roads, paths, and other visual clues. Sometimes walking to the edge of a map does nothing, while other times it leads to a new area. A slightly bigger issue is that interactions are not clearly indicated. Aside from a faint highlight, there is no button prompt when you approach something you can interact with. Combat is turn based, meaning actions alternate between your characters and the enemy. Enemies are visible on the map, so you can either avoid them or start a fight. There are no ambushes or surprise attacks, so your party always acts first and the enemy follows. Each character can perform a standard attack, use a skill that consumes special points, use an item from the inventory, or attempt to escape from battle. Health and special points do not restore after battles. The only ways to heal are by using items or activating a feature on your cellphone that teleports you back home to your bed. However, cellphone signals are blocked on maps that contain enemies, so you cannot use it to escape danger instantly. Maps without enemies allow you to save at any time, while saving is disabled in combat areas. Enemies respawn when you switch maps, which makes grinding easy, though it is not really necessary. If you prefer to focus on the story instead of battle strategy, there is also an easy difficulty where you can brute force your way through most encounters. During the story you will explore several locations that function like dungeons. These consist of multiple maps filled with enemies, and each dungeon usually contains at least one location where you can save or leave. Leaving forces you to restart the dungeon, but unlocked doors and shortcuts make returning much easier. One of the game’s unique features appears at the end of the first dungeon when Gwen receives a golden needle. Pressing a button allows you to switch to another dimension where everything looks stitched together. It turns out that someone is tearing the Fabric that’s guarded by spiders. In the real world, these tears appear as objects or things that have gone missing. You can switch between dimensions on any map. Most of the time the difference is purely visual, but occasionally switching dimensions is necessary to progress. The RPG mechanics are fairly straightforward. Winning battles grants experience, money, and sometimes item drops. Leveling up increases all character stats such as strength and health, but there are no skill trees. Instead, certain levels unlock friendship skills that are connected to a combat ability called Link. Links function similarly to regular skills, except they consume special points from both characters involved. Any two party members can form a link, and each combination has its own effect. These can deal double damage, increase defense, strengthen protection, and provide other benefits. When you reach the required level for a new skill, you must open your phone and select a flashing square. This reveals a short memory or event involving the character if it is a personal skill, or both characters if it is a linked skill. Each character has four personal skills and four linked skills with every friend. Since the party eventually grows to five members, each character can potentially have twenty skills in total. Not all of them are unique because many are shared between characters. Every character also has a defend command that costs no special points but reduces incoming damage by half during the next round. Equipment is also quite simple. Each character can equip one weapon and two accessories. However, equipment is limited and is mostly found in rare containers within combat areas. It does not make a dramatic difference, especially since some personal accessories have no effects at all. Most items provide only a single bonus such as increased health, damage, or another stat, or protection against status effects like blindness or paralysis. When you discover a major location, it becomes available on a small world map. The town is available from the beginning, where you can buy healing items along with weapons and accessories that gradually improve as the story progresses. Other locations remain hidden until you visit them as part of the story path. As for weapons, any party member can equip any weapon type, but characters perform best with their preferred tools. Gwen, for example, fights with a camera, while the musician Joey uses guitars. Although it is not immediately obvious, different characters deal varying levels of damage to certain enemies. Most attacks deal standard damage based on character stats, but sometimes you can inflict double or even triple damage, while other attacks may only deal half damage. This is indicated by arrows during combat. Green arrows pointing upward show that a character deals extra damage, while red arrows pointing downward suggest the character should attack something else. These indicators appear the first time a character attacks a particular enemy. After testing each character once, the game remembers the result so you do not need to repeat the process. Overall, this is a solid game about a group of friends who discover a threat that could destroy the world. Despite the premise, the game does not overwhelm players with complicated systems. Instead, it focuses on exploring dungeons, progressing through the story, and enjoying the journey.
Only up to the boss of the
Skyview Corporation
dungeon as of writing but I really cant resist it at this point. I'm completely in love with the character writing, the dynamics between everyone feel incredibly reminiscent of character dynamics present in Revelations Persona and Innocent Sin with how seamlessly each character (and their struggles) seem to bounce off both one another. The slow introduction and handling of neurodivergence and trans/queerness with select characters feel incredibly strong and intentional, no one in the cast feels like a filler piece or particularly more "fleshed out" than anyone else which feels like a rather great feat for a cast of 5. Interweaving combat with the narrative also feels particularly fresh in that Link Skills rely on your willingness to engage with each characters inner bonds/narratives but these specific scenes being accessible at your own pace keeps the downtimes between dungeon crawling still feel engaging, I often find myself in my own rhythm of taking time between dungeons instead of rushing to the next one. While some characters links are mechanically stronger than others and some party members having clearer utility than others I again never feel like im falling back on one specific strategy with combat. The breathing room the game gives to experiment with Links and their very VERY interesting mechanical nuances has me more often than not grind enemies to figure out the little ticks in how Link Skills work and the game very much rewards you and expects you to know how to abuse its Link system. The overworld Fabric mechanics feel incredibly fun while also smartly allowing dungeon designs to be relatively low risk and safe on the developer end. Simple puzzles get to have minor extra nuances that make the Fabric mechanic feel earned and never a placeholder gimmick. (Especially in
Skyview Corporation and Tempo Caves.
) Story on its own never really drags its feet and knows how to balance its tone fairly well and for a very personal comment its relieving to play a game that feels incredibly sincere in its vision. Not once have I felt like the game had any doubts with its self or was looking for ways to put its self down. tl;dr Top 5'er of the year easy I hope everyone who made this makes games forever and ever love and peace
very fun so far! the characters are all very interesting too

This game has an interesting play style while in combat and I enjoy the way you can upgrade your skills by using your friends and hanging out to find abilities or 'skills'. Graphics: I am in love with the graphics of this game, it feels like you are playing in someones sketchbook and they have made it into a 2D universe, I believe that this game could run on lower end systems. Community: This game has not yet been released at the time of this review, however, don't let that differ you from interacting with people as there is always an opportunity to find amazing people. How long can you play?
