Famous historical masterpieces become handcrafted hidden object puzzles inspired by real art across centuries. Study each scene, decode cryptic cravings, and interpret increasingly suspicious riddles to determine exactly what you’re hungry for. Rip it from the canvas. Consume it with the confidence of someone who has never faced consequences.
Observe. Interpret. Point. Click. Rip. Swallow.

I Eat Paintings When Guards Aren’t Looking is a hidden object game with a twist. The title is not a metaphor. Using a fork as your cursor, you select small bits of classic artwork to consume. I Eat Paintings consists of 15 levels. Each presents a famous piece of art which is accompanied by an educational summary (e.g., who, what, where, when, etc.). The painting is then described in culinary terms that explain why it is so compelling to the hungry player. Finally, you get a list of objects to find and eat. The list requires some thinking, as it describes everyday things using very creative wordplay. I love words and enjoy it when language is used artistically. I admit that I had to pull out a dictionary more than once and this expanded my vocabulary (who knew that a “thumbs up” is performed by extending one’s pollex!). The result was that I spent most of my time in this game attempting to eat paintings with a big smile on my face. There is a bit of voice-acting at the end of the game but, for the most part, your appetite is soothed by classical music. Kudos to the developer for including my all-time favorite piece of music in the 14th level! As you may have noticed, I really enjoyed this game. Levels are played, in order, and you must complete one before moving to the next. After you have finished the game, you can return to any level to reset and replay. If you choose to leave a level without finding all of the objects, your progress is saved and found items are retained. There is a graduated hint system in case you get really stuck. Achievements are related to finding specific objects that are not listed. To avoid spoilers, I will say no more. You can get 100% on one play through if you are paying attention. If you miss an achievement, you can return and reset/replay each level to look for it. I highly recommend this game to those who love the art of language. Even if you are not a fan of hidden objects, the list of items to eat in this game is not long and the wordplay is worth the hunt. Unique, silly, full of art history and cats! What more could you ask for? Hidden object game with riddled clues and humorous commentary. Very glad that Smudge was at The Last Supper.
Very funny and good mew mew a must for that finding fix! 10/10
A short and quite silly Hidden object game where you eat historical famous paintings, or rather specific parts of them. That's it. As Hidden object games it's pretty good if a bit short, with only 15 levels, but it's also cheap so that's not an issue. The achievements are not for finishing a level, it's about finding aditional cats in the paintings (because ofcourse it's cats, it's a hidden object game), plus one hidden that might not be entirely obvious. Anyway, short 90 minute or so enjoyable for what it is and the weird premise.
💗 This game was gifted to Indie Therapy for review. I Eat Paintings When Guards Aren't Looking is such a stupidly fun concept, and I mean that in the best way possible. It's a hidden object game where you sneak around eating specific parts of famous historical paintings, and honestly, I couldn't stop laughing at how silly the whole idea is. It's basically a hidden object game with a very silly twist, and I had a great time with it. It's pretty short with only 15 levels, but it's also cheap, so I didn't mind at all. I really enjoyed all the little art history references, and of course, any game that includes cats gets bonus points from me. Overall, it's unique, goofy, full of cats, and surprisingly charming. Absolutely delicious and easily digestible. Would eat paintings again. 10/10. 🐱🖼️
This game... Is actually freaking hilarious. Thank you for letting me have a go at it! ^^ (That ending image of the MC (Main Character)... LOL!) I do enjoy looking at older artwork as its not only a view into the past, it can also show some weird stuff. That last painting... XD Now then. Humor lands. Two: Cats. It's a must to have them in every game. I will note that the cats made rather realistic sounds. Whilst playing the game, my own cat peeked around a variety of items, before approaching me and trying to see where this "cat" was located... Obviously proceeding to lose interest after I started to tell him what a "game" is. Best cat face (no such thing) was at the "Last Supper". That'll show 'em! ^-^ Ah the game play: It's Hidden Object style. The harder way. I thought Hidden World of Art was hard... This one gives you a small hint towards each item you must find and consume. There are clues and such and if you *really* can't find it? They'll just straight up show it to you. But it is rather fun, seeing as even my rl friend joined me in trying to decipher the "codes". :> Oh and the MC was eating the painting parts so convincingly... I kinda wanted to try it. >.> While it's not really long, the game has charm and I made sure not to obtain two Achievements so I can come back and replay it again! Thanks you! ^-^
I'm a big hidden object fan and enjoyed the quirky dialogue and the challenge of deciphering clues to find objects hidden in real paintings. The hint and reveal system are great additions for when my two brain cells can't piece together the clues. :) NOM NOM PAINTINGS
Cute hidden object game that made me really take a closer look at some cool art. Very amusing
Its a nice simple game for under $10AUD, it fistratioing at points with clues that dont make sence but allows us to revile them when we have had enough.
Fascinating puzzle game, seeing artwork on a new plate.
