Still Open: Taskbar Cafe Idle

One of my most favourite things to do is curl up with a book in a cafe, sipping coffee and nibbling on a sweet treat. So this was a no brainer for me. While it did not disappoint with creating the vibes and calming ambiance I was looking for, the idling experience can be a bit confusing and finicky. There is an automated tutorial at the beginning but I was AFK upon launch up >.< There is an option to reset the game in the settings panel but it doesn't relaunch the tutorial sadly. That being said, it is pretty self explanatory. This is a true blue idler. You earn money passively as customers visit the cafe. You update your cafe with the money earned to attract even more customers and options to increase revenue. You start with a pretty bare cafe, so it is nice to see it flourish and grow over time with more seating and decorations. There is no customization options for upgrades. It is all pre-set. Some may not like this but if you want something that is hands off so you can focus, then this is perfect. I would still recommend this game because of the cheap price tag but there are a couple downsides that could be frustrating. For starters, it is a little annoying trying to comprehend the flow of money and which upgrades affect the revenue. I left the game running overnight and woke up to no revenue gain. I was actually in the negative. With upgrades. So I ended up having to restart my game because I wasn't making any money with it running idly. Which kinda defeats the purpose of an idler >.> Not sure what happened there but I am having more success now. I just think if you don't pick the RIGHT upgrades, you can screw yourself over. Another aspect of the game that bothers me is that to start you can only view the cafe from 2 different angles. You need to pay to upgrade and unlock the ability to idle at different angles and to view the inside of the cafe. In addition, to control the day time and night time toggle you again need to pay A VERY HEFTY price tag. Just think features like this should have been base gameplay. Despite that, the pixelated art and sounds of passing cars and clattering cups have won me over. So I will continue to keep this running. There are also optional mini games you can play to earn extra money. There is an alert when they become active, so make sure to turn up the volume for 'effects' so you don't miss them (in the setting menu). I know it is a $3 game and I can't be making demands, but if I could I would wish for the ability to change seasons with the ambiance timer. I think it would look stunning and add immensely to the idling experience. If you are like me with a quiet soul and enjoy sitting in cafe corners just watching it all, then you might appreciate this very hands off, charming find. If you are looking for an idler that is super polished and refined, with options for [i]active[/i] cafe customization, you may prefer something more like 'Not Monday Cafe' instead. Overall... for the price, you can't go wrong with this one if you enjoy dabbling in idlers. UPDATE: Still 100% love this game but I am encountering a bug where I am not making money for hours. This is the second time this has happened to me with plenty of upgrades and is resolved when I restart my game. I posted it on the forums and if no resolution is reached, I will change my review. Very nice idle game of a corner cafe on your desktop! Plays wonderful chill and soothing music while you do work or play on your computer or laptop. I haven't found any bugs in it and it does what it says without a hitch! The 60+ upgrades are meaningful. When you start out, you have a plain corner cafe. As you upgrade you can see the additions and changes to your cafe. More customers will come and increase your income. It has a pomodoro timer and activity list to help you stay in focus. It can be resized but it doesn't pop up automatically. You have to toggle on the resize cursor in the settings first. It's very faint though and I didn't see it right away, but the resize icon is right next to the camera lock toggle. [h3]If you start over the game fresh, you will only start out with two camera views when you press on the camera icon. They don't come with instructions but you can easily figure them out. You can also ask on the discussion board if you can't. This is such a pleasantly chill idle cafe simulator! I recommend it! PS - The cooll jazz playing in the background is AMAZING! So laid back and soothing, but also something sassy about it.
