Very bad game 3/10
waited for years for this to go on sale, but it never did....it never did....
I can't really recommend Steam Marines. It's okay I guess for nostalgia gamers: It feels like it was made it he late 80s or early 90s. The controls and camera are a bit awkward, randomly generated rooms are often not connected to other rooms, and the tactics don't feel particularly deep.

not worth your time budget turned based tactics game
Insupportable !
I started this game with mixed expectations, having enjoyed many roguelike games earlier, but unfortunately my hopes were dashed fairly quickly after playing a few rounds of Steam Marines. What I found is pretty much what the other negative reviews here have discovered - bugs, brutal leaps in difficulty (e.g. between Easy and Normal), randomly generated maps that don't make any sense (rooms without doors, you have to smash through the walls to get anywhere) and such. I'll have to give this a thumbs-down, sadly. It could have been a very good game with better balancing and the bugs patched out. But as of now, that is not the case.
I did'nt like it. It's an interesting tactical shooter but some of the game design decisions don't make sense to me and get in the way of really enjoying it. It feels like they wanted to go for something more fleshed out but had to cut scope and polish what they had. My main gripe is the accuracy/positioning rules and which feel unnecessarily restrictive for the sake of "strategy?". Maybe I would start to enjoy it more if I spent more time with it, but I don't have the extra time to spend on things that just don't feel right/finished.
i dont know
Procedural generation that drops you into rooms with no doors. Tutorial isn't clear on all mechanics. UI can be clunky. Rating system at the end of a level is unclear. Loot is unsatisfying. Account for move distance and activate overwatch.
