The game throws you into a massive, billion-dollar global conspiracy about uploading human consciousness into a flawless digital utopia. The only catch? The consciousness they chose belongs to Richard Nolan, a guy who can barely manage his own living room. He is walking proof that mind-uploading technology has absolutely zero quality control. If the next step in human evolution relies on this guy's brain, our species is officially doomed. All of this is wrapped in a low-poly aesthetic where everyone looks like they were carved out of cardboard with dull scissors. Watching two pointy, aggressive origami people try to have a deeply emotional, dramatic relationship argument is an absolute masterpiece of unintentional comedy. Verdict: 10/10. The best game to make you realize that, in the future, your USB-flash-drive clone will probably make much better life choices than you do. The main takeaway from State of Mind is that it is completely useless for humanity to figure out how to upload our minds into a flawless digital utopia... if your personality still sucks in the cloud. Verdict: 10/10. Excellent simulator on how to be the absolute worst person in two different realities at the same time.
