Starters Orders Classic Horse Racing

So this is Starters Orders 7 with 2D races instead of 3D. I for one am ecstatic as I badgered the developers to do this for ages and now play this version rather than the 3D but that is just my preference. I love this game it's by far the most realistic and detailed horse racing game there is. This said it will not appeal to non horse racing fans. A better tutorial may help. There are a number of game modes and options but the basics are you start with a couple of poor horses and have to try to win races and/or make money through betting to increase your funds and improve your stable. There are specific UK, North American and Australian game modes some with flat and jumps schedules and you play as just the trainer or the trainer and owner combined. Once you get established you can start breeding. Be warned that dominating the game is now much harder than past releases as the computer trainers and breeders use the same pool of Stallions that the player has access to. However the breeding is much improved with all the historical stats and data anyone could want. The new breeding makes getting a foot hold in the game quite difficult however, but once you get going you should be able to get some good wins. This initial difficulty makes progress all the more rewarding. Just don't get discouraged early on. Recommended for horse racing fans!

Crashes alot wait awhile watch reviews see if it gets fixed before buying. Fun when not crashing but when you get midway through season an it crashes before you exited out to save infuriating especially after all the horse swapping you do to make money in early stages to build up your training location an get a breeding barn and expand stable to hold more horses an put all the thought and time in to get that far an still have money 1st year.

This classic game needs some update love. Constant crashes and corrupted save files has turned what is otherwise a fun and engrossing training-racing-betting-builder into an unplayable waste of time. No more stable than it was on its original release, and possibly even runs less predictably with the archiving and file structuring of modern OS. Cannot recommend this tantalizing near miss of a great sim in its current, unreliable state.

No expert on horses but this seems to be a very good sim.......takes at least 2 years of breeding minimum before you can enter races and win.Enjoying it very much with 3 aspects to the game being, in no particular order,Betting,Racing and Breeding very good.

The Dev should be ashamed of developing a game that crashes all the time. This game is so unstable that I truly regret buying It because once again the Dev only cares ab out them not about you or me. All the Dev cares about is making money from us not about fixing the problems In the game. I thought that this game was going be better but It isn't. I now know why so many people are not happy with It. The game crashes way too often. You have to save It constantly. The breeding is even worse now then ever before In the game. You don't even get quality horses when you breed The number of horses In a race are still too many especially In stake races. The most number of horses In a stakes race should be about 10 or less at all times. I can't understand why the dev hasn't been banned from steam. I would never recommend this game to people until the dev fixes all the problems and It looks like this Dev won't be doing any of them at all. To be honest I have seen better horse racing management games then this even the earlier versions of starters orders like 6 were much better and more stable then this is.

best horse racing sim on the planet

Many years ago I played Horse A Racing Management Games. This Classic version is much like them in it's presentation on the track. But far deeper as a game. You will have to watch a video or two on Youtube to get the most out of the game but I still managed to get through a couple or three seasons on my first two try's before I ran out of money and still had fun. This version of the game is mostly the same as Starters Orders 7 just with 2D Graphics and you can't ride the horses like the 3D version. But that not an issue for me, this version of the game was cheaper for the same game really. It's addictive and a game with no end, like a Football Manager Game. I'd give it a 8.5 Out 10 for the very reason the game is not explained but there are instructions that are worth reading.

I have been looking for a decent Horse Racing sim for years. This is just what I was looking for with a few minor ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥: Presentation and graphics quality could be better but it's an indie game so I can live with that as the simulation side is very deep with lots of options and simply the best there is.

Just finding my way through this game being a big fan of horse racing. The commentary is very accurate but poor, the voice over is enough to make me reach for the volume and turn it down its very weary. The form mechanics of the game feel realistic. If there was options to choose different voice tones that would be a big plus. However Horse racing games are limited for PC users the people that produce these type of games are good at it. its come a long way since the days of Stablemasters. I have experienced no crashes yet whilst playing this game.

Très bon jeu de management de chevaux de course. Très prenant. Peut-être un jour, une version sur le trot et son prix d'Amerique et Elitlopett !
