About

An entire universe awaits you in Stars Reach. In this science-fantasy MMORPG, you'll visit strange, new worlds, become an explorer, and build a life on planets that react to everything you do. Your choices will change your world. And, you'll do it with every other player on a single server. Leave your mark on the galaxy!
Each world responds to your actions. A deep, reactive simulation allows water to flow naturally, forests to burn, and lava to harden into new materials and land masses. From lush forests to winding rivers to perilous mountains, every planet has its own ecosystems, resources, and challenges. Your decisions determine what resources are available to you, how wildlife reacts, and ultimately which settlements prosper.
Planets are living systems. Your decisions determine what resources are available to you. Climate changes, creatures migrate, disasters strike, and the world reacts in ways you can’t fully control.
Travel through wormholes to discover new worlds, explore, build, survive, and thrive. Every planet begins untouched. What it becomes is up to you.
Master one of dozens of skill paths, and live the galactic life you’ve always dreamed. Whether you want to protect settlers as a ranger, build a trade empire, or offer your services as an architect, Stars Reach offers many skill paths that allow you to chart a course through space that fits your play style. There are different weapons to master. There’s a career path just for you in Stars Reach.
You’re not locked into any single playstyle. Experiment with different skill paths and find the combination that suits you best. Build your own class from different skill sets and define your role in the galaxy.
Your first steps onto a new world take you far beyond the familiar. You’ll need to adapt to your surroundings by learning to survive. Every skill path has accompanying equipment, which you’ll gain proficiency with by using those tools.
More importantly, your contributions to the community will increase your proficiency. A camp you build will earn you experience when others rest at it. Community means survival, and we’ve built Stars Reach to support pro-social behavior and limit the ability for other players to ruin your experience through griefing.
You can build a cozy cottage on a remote hill, and carve out a living by yourself. But if you crave community, team up to build settlements and cities, shape how they grow, and decide how they are governed.
Team up and claim a large plot of land that isn’t just a home base. You and your friends can cluster your homesteads, build a community, and govern together.
The resources you gather can be sold in a unified galactic economy driven by players. Or, you can use them to craft tools and technology to supply distant worlds with vital goods necessary for their survival.
Trade with players across the galaxy, specialize in what you make, and become a master of your craft and earn renown across the galaxy.
Your choices determine what comes next.
Cities grow or decline, ecosystems shift, wildlife becomes extinct, and resources are used up or recover based on what you do. Protect the environment and its inhabitants, or strip mine it for profit. Other players live with the results of what you leave behind.
This is Stars Reach! What will you become?

it's kinda fun
Great Vision, Hostile Execution and Pre-Alpha Performance Not Recommended (Thumbs Down) I really wanted to love this game. I’m a huge fan of sandbox MMOs, crafting, and player-driven economies, and on paper, the underlying vision here is fantastic. Unfortunately, the current state of the game on Steam is an absolute technical mess, combined with some of the most frustrating user experience (UX) design choices I’ve seen in a live-service release. The Good: The core sandbox concept, deep skill trees, and environmental simulation have massive potential if the devs can ever stabilize the game. The Bad: Horrible Optimization & Jank: Severe frame rate drops, constant hitching, micro-stutters, and rubber-banding regardless of specs. Character models fail to render properly, collisions break, and you will frequently clip through terrain or get stuck on invisible geometry. It feels like an unoptimized pre-alpha build that was rushed onto Steam way too early. Pointless Recipe Book Limits: You are restricted to a tiny cap of "active" recipes and forced to manually deactivate and store the rest elsewhere. In classic sandboxes like SWG, once your character earned a recipe skill, you kept it. Gating earned recipes behind arbitrary inventory limits isn't meaningful gameplay—it's just a tedious time sink designed to mask a lack of content. starsreach.com Fatal Gate Mechanics: Travel gates between planets/galaxies are an absolute death trap. Unless you align perfectly in the physical center of the gate, you’re forced to sit through a 5-to-10-second "Do you want to travel?" pop-up window. While that window slowly processes, you're a sitting duck and get repeatedly killed before the zone transfer even loads. Absurdly Over-Engineered Math: Gathering and mining are painfully tedious. Instead of awarding clean, whole resource units, the game streams floating-point decimals. After several minutes of mining, you end up with ridiculous yields like "10.385 Iron" in your inventory. It adds unnecessary UI clutter and artificial friction to basic crafting routines for zero gain in fun. Hostile Progression & Lockout Puzzles: Essential crafting recipes—the lifeblood of a sandbox game—are locked behind completely unexplained puzzle caches in the open world. Worse, if you fail the puzzle, the cache permanently breaks and locks you out. Punishing exploration by bricking essential crafting progression with zero tutorialization is just terrible design. Verdict: What sounds great on a whiteboard in a closed developer meeting plays horribly in reality. Unless Playable Worlds rolls out massive performance fixes and strips away these overly convoluted, player-punishing mechanics, most people are just going to hit refund. Save your money for now and check back in a year to see if they fix the engine and listen to player feedback. You would have been better doing more of a copy and paste of SWG and No Man Sky. Than what was done with these cells and how they work. It also created a huge performance issue. Even if you allow the environment to grow back and reshape itself over time. This got over engineered by a few nerds in a room because it sounds great and smart. Yet when players play this game it sucks.

fun community game
So bad grind hours to get a housing token, they it just dissapears from your inventory, mobs one shot you and then you find out to keep your house in the future you have to monthly sub basicly... Totally not worth it for what the game is or looks like...
Kann gut werden aber im aktuellen Zustand nicht ordentlich spielbar. Frechheit für den Stand des Spieles 30 Euro zu verlangen.*REFUND*
A little buggy but for a day 1 EA game its quite good. The systems mostly work and thus far it is fun. Looking forward to getting to the base building components of the game. Let the devs cook. EDIT: Changing my review now because after several hours in, I have yet to experience the sandbox. All I can do is fetch quests which sometimes do not even load properly and have to be abandoned. They pay a few hundred credits and you need 20k to start a base and get to base building. While initially I was willing to grind out a bit to get to the sandbox elements of the game, this fetch quest system is so soul crushing I cannot keep it up. I put in for a refund and will look at this game in the future. I want to like this game but I want an actual sandbox, I have zero interest in "Go here, kill a boar, run halfway accross the planet to go into space turn in the quest and get another batch of quests to do the same thing"
Nope
this wasn't ready for EA
I really wanted to like this game... The ideas the devs have are amazing, but the current state of the game is just awful. The combad is very clunky, building a base will tear your mental health apart and leave you in pieces, character is jumping and shaking around everytime you come up with a slope, in the beginning all enemies will one shot you, enemies are all the same meaning they have 2 attacks, one is basic bomb and second one is several bombs. It does not matter who you are fighting, a rabbit -> bombs, a deer -> bombs, a wasp -> bombs, an alien thingy -> bombs. Also the missions are just repeats and you can survey the same node 100 times for the reward. If the devs can pull this off with more different missions, fix the character shaking, fix the combat, fix the base building, fix the performance, fix the lag, fix the missions, fix the 27 different types or iron, fix the character creation, fix the starting area, and I might have forgotten something.. The devs have very good ideas and goals, but the game is half baked and needs a lot of work. This could be an excellent MMO, just need work, a lot of work... I know I repeat myself, but I cannot stress this enough, there is a lot of work ahead for the devs.... If you don't mind the issues I mentioned above, this is a game for you. Terraforming is cool..... and also the devs are active and responding in Discord. Waiting for the devs to fix couple things... This one could be a great game.
se buguea a cada rato cuando carga para enviarte de un ligar a otro, incluso dentro del area del tutorial en heaven, es injugable ni siquiera el tutorial, me hice 3 personajes y en los 3 lo mismo, no puedo salir del tutorial.
