STAR WARS™: TIE Fighter Special Edition

Literally one of the best or even possibly the best STAR WARS game ever made. Period.

Absolutely could not get it to work on Windows 11 or linux. Special Edition, Classic, I even wasted 2 hours trying to download the Total Conversion mod until I realized none of the bindings would save. Within 5 seconds of rebinding, the game would forget them again. And in the regular Tie Fighter editions themselves, neither my mouse nor my flight stick were recognized. Unfortunate to say, but do not buy.

I'm sure it's a wonderful game, but it doesn't have mouse/keyboard support and doesn't work on a steam deck, which is basically a controller.

Кроме того тут есть таинственные "секретные миссии" с совершенно другими наградами, что добавляет интереса к и без того интересному геймплею. [h2] Фишки [/h2] - Такое ж издание, как и X-Wing досовская классика, улучшенная сиди-версия и special версия на новом движке. - (Сомнительно) Возможность поиграть за другую сторону конфликта, за "плохих" - Тоже несколько видов кораблей, правда их нужно сначала заслужить. - Есть взаимодействие со своим звеном, можно отдавать команды, что люто радует. А также, т.к. мы за "плохих", можно вызывать подклепления - Сюжет гораздо интереснее и закрученнее [h2] Обломы [/h2] - Также нужен геймпад, без него неиграбельно - Из-за иной сути кораблей, она показалась ещё сложнее, чем x-wing. - Та же ерунда, русиша нету, а без него вникать в контекст тяжеловато [b] Итоговый вердикт. Эта часть по праву считается одним из лучших космосимов по Звездным Войнам. Она бодрее, разнообразнее и сюжетно глубже, чем X-Wing. Но порог вхождения всё такой же высокий: либо ты учишься жить без щитов и ловить тайминги, либо удаляешь игру через 10 минут. Если готов стать «правой рукой» Вейдера и не боишься трудностей оно стоит того. Бегом покупать! [/b]

This is simply the greatest game of all time. Full stop.

This is by far one of the best Star Wars games ever made and it still holds up pretty well for a PC game from over thirty years ago. The storyline is very immersive and convinces you the Empire are the good guys and the space combat is top notch. I highly recommend using an old school flight joystick for authenticity and easier play. We didn't have Xbox controllers in 1994.

One of the greatest PC games of all time. You are the EMPIRE... tasked to keep peace between waring species. The game came out when Bubba was trying to distract the nation from a certain intern and got the USA involved in some 'peace keeping' actions. A wonderful reflection on current times and a big part of my youth. I come back and replay the game in its entirety once every year or two. This and X-Wing Alliance are masterpieces.

I loved this game as a kid. I wish it would be remastered.

It's a Classic. Satisfying game play. Use a Joystick and relive your childhood pretending to be a tie fighter pilot.
