classic. harder difficulties will remind you just how hard old games could be
Dash Rendar what the hell was this. I haven’t had this much genuine fun and rage from a game in a long time. This is an n64 port so keep in mind there are some bugs but the steam community guides helped fix the bulk of them. A few specific issues I ran into include but are not limited to: - the first levels camera getting stuck causing the ship to repeatedly fly away from the screen - the game suddenly displaying all white surfaces without textures - the game suddenly becoming unresponsive - sliding off Gall spaceport for 2 hours As some general advice change the framerate, NEVER alt tab EVER it will kill your game, note that if you launch in higher quality your UI may be extremely small in the corners of the screen and whatever you do DO NOT STRAFE. It will send you flying off the edge of the map at terminal velocity, turn with your mouse. Despite the issues this game has character, a fun stand alone story about an extremely random feeling character, Leebo and endless charm so I recommend for those who are willing to bear the clunky controls.
I had this for the 64 when I was a kid. this game was a horror game for me then! there was a lot of cool exploits to defeat the bosses. I remember the purple pulse bullets would hit enemies through walls - doesn't do so in this port. Wonky controls + the level design makes for a hard game to beat !
Still super fun! As someone who usually doesn't play on mouse on keyboard I found the controls pretty easy to adapt to. I recommend not trying to run the game at 4k/1280 because menus will be lost in translation. 640x480 is best for quality, gameplay and hud. All in all, for $6 absolutely worth a buy and trip down memory road
English: Okay, I understand why many people feel this version has some issues that negatively impact the game, such as the lack of a frame rate limit, causing it to run faster than normal, or problems with the controller, which doesn't work well in this version, especially for those who are used to and prefer the Nintendo 64 version. But honestly, I like this version better. The reasons are that I could play comfortably with a keyboard and mouse, which made the levels much easier, unlike the clunky controls of the original Nintendo 64 version. Also, the music is more complete and of higher quality than the Nintendo 64 version had due to console limitations. The pause menus are nice, and there's different artwork each time you progress through the levels. I like how they added CGI cutscenes with voice acting from the beginning to the end of the game. I also like that you can have and add more new save files, unlike the limited four save files in the Nintendo 64 version. The only thing I don't like is... assuming the game doesn't cap the FPS during gameplay, and the controllers also have issues. The start menu is basic and looks like an old Windows XP program. If you remember, the Nintendo 64 version had a great menu on the game's cover, and the selected save files were very detailed; something that has definitely been lost in this version. Even so, although some don't like this version because of its flaws, and others do (including me), I consider it one of my favorite shooters from my childhood, when I played it on the Nintendo 64. My rating for this version would be 8.7/10. While I give the Nintendo 64 version an 8/10. Recommendation: If you want to play this game at normal FPS (25 FPS or 60 FPS), I recommend using RivaTuner Statistics, where you can limit it to 25 FPS or set it to 60 FPS within the game itself. or in Global (although I recommend adjusting it in global because that's where it worked for me).
I had this on N64 when I was a kid so I wanted to play this for nostalgia sakes. Back in the day I never made it past the first level and honestly now that I made it further, I didn't miss much. The level design is horrible, the controls atrocious and whatever story is going on is pretty uninteresting. I couldn't even finish the game because of a game breaking bug during
the Boba Fett boss fight.
Nostalgic! Nice to play this again. Unfortunately, not designed for pc, had some trouble playing with mouse and of course some bugs. But nothing that made this a bad experience.
