About
Hop into the driver's seat of your rocket-powered big rig as you haul cargo, scavenge for salvage and interact with an eclectic cast of star-hopping truckers in this Americana-infused journey on the ultimate open road - space!

Hi, this is Monster and Monster. Star Trucker is our tiny indie team's passion project, and we’re committed to making it the best intergalactic trucking game we can. By listening to the community, we’re working hard to improve the experience with every update. So buckle up and join us for the long haul!

Your truck is not a starship. We’ve taken typical vehicular controls then made sure zero-g momentum played a big part in maneuvers. The result is a unique driving experience that’s easy to pick up yet hard to master!
Cruise the hyper highways, taking on a variety of jobs such as fuel hungry long hauls and hazardous drop-offs to earn cash and unlock new content.
And don't forget to monitor the CB radio for chatter from fellow truckers; it's a fantastic way to uncover side gigs and stay updated on galactic gossip.

Keeping your rig runnin’ isn’t always easy. You’ll need to keep your core systems online, gravity compensator spinnin’ and hull patched to prevent your cab from leaking lung juice.
Be sure to make pre-trip shop stops for replacement parts, and consider upgrading your truck at a local garage. These improvements are vital for safely navigating volatile sectors and ensuring timely deliveries.

Use the galactic map to plan your journey and warp jumps, while keeping an eye on your fuel reserves and power levels.
Once your route is set, kick back, crank up the cab hi-fi and cruise to a selection of original songs covering starburst blues, galactic rock and asteroid infused americana. The open road is waiting!

I'm a fan of simgames about non-existing jobs which where inspired by real ones (for example Viscera and Hardspace). And safe to say I'm fan of this one too. It's goes surprisingly deep. Your truck has various systems you need to keep your eye on to maintain and utilize them as needed while you're hauling cargo from one star system to another. You'll unlock new sectors, each with their own hazards you need to deal with, using the various systems of your truck. Maintaining the systems on it's own is simple you just need to make sure you have the supplies to swap as needed. But it's another story if you also need to keep your eyes on the, err.. “road”. There still is traffic and traffic rules to consider. Although traffic rules are mainly just speed limits. Still having to exit your seat in the middle of a highway to quickly swap the batteries of your air-conditioner so you don't turn into a crisp because it's 261c outside your cabin isn't ideal. There is economy in the game, although I'm not sure if it's random or dynamic. The prices for fuel, commodities and supplies do shift per star system. Not only adding a bit more depth to maintaining your truck, but also giving you to get some nice opportunities to buy certain commodities cheap in one system to sell for expensive elsewhere. Some commodities are illegal in certain systems so you need to find the black market (if the system has any). Just make sure you're not flying through a security checkpoint if you plan to smuggle stuff. In space you can EVA to do some emergency repairs after a collision or emergency refuel if you ran out (if you have filled jerrycan). But also if you found a salvage beacon, to collect abandoned supplies or commodities floating around. The newest update also added side jobs (ventures) you can accept which require EVA. The graphics are nice, some star systems are real eye candy. The truck has a slight learning curve, but it handles nicely. The physics are semi-Newtonian, felt pretty similar to Elite (although I play both with Flight Assist on). It's also a huge bonus that you can fine tune the difficulty to your liking. Do you want higher or more relaxed fines? Or lower/increase the rate you need to maintain your truck? A lot of it is adjustable on the fly, allowing you to make the game as relaxed or stressful as you want it to be. Oh and you can listen to real radiostations in the game! ---------------------------------------- Some sidenotes: - Commodities can be damaged too easily and the price deduction for 1 point of damage (while commodities have 100s of durability points) is so severe (on default at least) that it's almost not worth bringing commodities that can't be put into crates. - It's so far I know impossible to know when the jumpgate you're about to use leads to a security checkpoint or not. Sometimes I jump and I pass through a checkpoint, then I reload and do the exact same jump only for there be *no* checkpoint this time. As if it's RNG you can't really plan around, - Weight stations are useless after an upgrade or 2, since crossing the weight limit becomes only an issue if you cram every inch of your truck with supplies/commodities. - Would be nice if you could add your own music files/folder to play on the radio.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A good game, but prepare for a massive grind to reach level 50. Adjustable difficulty was a genius update from devs.
It's not fun. IMHO it's a stupid premise but that's not important. It's a botched execution of something that COULD have been fun. DEV -- seriously, this game just is "meh"; like this could have been truck driving, goods trading, engine fixing, exploration fun! But instead you flushed any sensible QoL down the toilet, turned this into a button-mashing nightmare, and called it "Game Play". It's an insult to people who are not Reddit / Lemmy Mods. Run on Linux.
I love this game, but I understand why others don't. The learning curve is a bit sharp. Just take it slow starting out and be patient. If you put in the legwork to learn how to fly safely, it won't be long before it gets really easy. There are some really helpful guides if you get stuck. Once you get settled, it becomes a cozy trucking sim.
-Jeu de livraison en camion? Singe dire oui -Une gestion complète dudit camion?
Nice game, its relaxing
Star Trucker is a really awesome blend of space game and simulator. It's approachable and let's the player have complete customization on difficulty settings and how the game plays (more sim, vs more story, vs more mechanical, etc). It's got a great balance on "grind" that gives you the simulator feel of "getting work done" but doesn't demand 100's or 1000's of hours of your time to complete. Mission rewards are marginal at best early in making your first few upgrades feel really rewarding as you scrape by but also risky because a bad crash can leave you with a hefty repair bill that makes you think twice before running wide open through a debis field. I was also was impressed with the way the story plays out. What seems like odd side jobs at first blends together in a solid way. The characters on the CB Radio keep the game feeling alive and bring a lot of great and authentic feeling personality to the game that would otherwise just be a quiet and monotonous grind through the void. The skill tree and progression is cleverly linked to "certifications" that unlock different types of jobs while the story drives unlocking new tools and areas in a way that works really well together. Letting the player pick and choose how quickly to progress or what types of jobs to specialize in makes it feel more like a open space sand box to play in.. this also keeps the challenges varied as different areas present different challenges while different types of jobs can completely change the way the truck handles or your approach to how you drive. Truck upgrades feel meaningful and very much impact the way your truck performs in a noticeable way; while cosmetics are unlocked through challenges and achievements which feels rewarding and when combined with heavy penalties on damage, repairs, or not following the rules (i.e. skipping out on a weigh station) - creates a lot of immersion and attachment to the truck. Lastly I'll say the universe is beautiful and satisfying to explore. Each sector I've seen so far has a different look and feel or sometimes new hazards involved. The soundtrack is good and lends itself to the characters, the world building, and that "trucker" feel too.. albeit the playlist was pretty short. The other "Truck Sim Stations" you can change to on the radio are a good way to hold up that shortfall but the songs there are modern day hits and can sometimes feel out of place depending on what's playing.. All in all - impressed with Star Trucker and highly recommend. Honestly, Ive always been curious about these "truck sim" games but was hesitant for fear of them being boring... Despite seeing people dump 1000's of hours into them... But I also love space games. The "Firefly Universe" is something I sorely miss and this game feels very similar to that, Hard space Shipbreaker, and others like it. Not sure how this would compare to ETS or ATS but Star Trucker seemed like the perfect introduction into these types of games in a setting I already knew and loved.
I played this on a gamepad and instantly realized this game has a HUGE flaw. This is a 3D space transport game, but your "truck" lacks multidirectional thrusters, which in zero G 3D space navigation is beyond ridiculous and infeasible. If this was done as a measure to favor entertainment over realism, it failed miserably and makes the game not only unrealistic, but less enjoyable by intentional design. Just because I don't agree with the devs creative vision, or lack of basic space navigation understanding, doesn't mean you have to agree with me and buy this title under the pretense its awkward and cumbersome on purpose.
