This is one of the worst games I have ever played. The game will not save some of your progress.

Star Sky 2, developed by Mårten Jonsson and JMJ Interactive and published by PLAYISM, is not a traditional game in the sense of challenge or action but rather an interactive experience that asks players to slow down and appreciate the atmosphere it creates. At its core, it is a meditative walk through dreamlike nightscapes, where every step can potentially lead to quiet discoveries and branching paths. Instead of focusing on combat, puzzles, or fast-paced mechanics, the game emphasizes exploration, reflection, and subtle storytelling through the environments and encounters scattered across its landscapes. The premise is simple: you guide a lone figure through serene night settings—rolling hills, snowy fields, forests, and shimmering lakes—while deciding which directions to take and whether to interact with the world around you. Each decision affects the flow of the journey, often leading to different events or endings. The game builds on the foundation of its predecessor by introducing more varied interactions and multiple pathways, encouraging replayability and exploration. While the narrative is intentionally vague, it’s the ambiguity that makes each run feel personal, leaving room for interpretation and introspection. Visually, Star Sky 2 embraces minimalism to great effect. The silhouetted landscapes and glowing moonlit backdrops evoke a sense of tranquility and solitude, drawing attention to the play of light and shadow across the screen. The simple animations suit the quiet tone, though at times they may appear stiff or limited, particularly during repeated playthroughs. The audio design complements the visuals perfectly, with soft ambient sounds and subtle musical cues enhancing the mood without overwhelming the experience. It’s a game where the sound of silence often carries as much weight as the score itself, inviting the player to become absorbed in the stillness. The strength of Star Sky 2 lies in how it frames choice and consequence. There are no overt tutorials or detailed explanations, and much of the discovery comes through trial, observation, and experimentation. Some paths reveal gentle encounters or surreal moments, while others fade into quiet stretches of walking beneath the stars. The game encourages patience, and in return it offers small but meaningful rewards—moments that feel like secrets discovered by chance. Multiple endings further enhance this sense of mystery, with each playthrough shedding light on different fragments of the world. However, its slow pace and minimal interactivity will not resonate with everyone. Players expecting strong narrative direction, varied mechanics, or constant stimulation may find themselves frustrated by long stretches where very little happens. Repetition is another potential drawback, as many of the paths overlap and replaying to see every possible outcome can sometimes feel tedious. The game is best approached in short sessions or with the mindset that its value lies in the atmosphere and emotional experience, not in gameplay depth. Despite its limitations, Star Sky 2 succeeds in creating a unique space within the gaming landscape. It offers an experience closer to interactive art than traditional entertainment, prioritizing mood and introspection over action. For those who can appreciate its quiet pace, it becomes more than just a game—it’s a meditative journey under the stars, one that invites players to find meaning in silence and simplicity. While not universally appealing, it stands as a thoughtful experiment that captures the beauty of slowing down and experiencing a world where every step can feel like a story in itself. Rating: 7/10
