Z-End

Z-End is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs trying to cash in on abandoned app store stuff. The mobile app was removed from Google Play, possibly because of the poor qualities issues. This mobile app is not a game, it's a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which poses the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". To answer that question: When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. This E-book features Choose-Your-Own-Adventure elements where you make some decisions that don't do anything to change the fact this is just an E-Book. Nobody finished reading a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book and said "Boy, what a great game I just played!". Because E-books aren't games. And neither is this. Eschewing the normal anime themed high school anime club dropout fan fiction, instead we have a zombie apocalypse fan-fiction CYOA instead. This does not make e-books better, it's just making Steam worse. Visual novels/e-books are tedious at best... imagine the best novel you ever read, be that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or 2001: A Space Odyssey or Twilight (if you have terrible taste in literature), but then translate that to a format where the words dribble out and you have to click your mouse every time you wanted to read the next sentence, instead of just turning the pages. You'd think it was garbage. Now imagine that experience, but with much worse writing (because if these guys could write professionally, they'd be published authors and this would be on shelves in bookstores, and they wouldn't have to pay Valve $100 to self-publish this on Steam), and you have your average Steam e-book. One of the chief problems with failed authors polluting Steam with non-game E-books is that E-books can easily just be presented in a web browser... there's no justification for charging money on Steam for what might as well be a webpage. We don't spend thousands on buying a gaming rig to spend money on Steam for something Chrome or Firefox could do. The poor quality of this mobile app is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak reader number was only 6 readers. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only reader activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality mobile app is to be expected. So, should you buy this mobile app? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Z-End has the almost comically optimistic (if it wasn't so sad) price of around $4 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. You can get better quality books and comics for free online or from public libraries, or from bookstores for a fraction of the price of this "game". Steam isn't a comic book store, neither is it Netflix, it's for games. Your gaming rig is not a Kindle. It's impossible for me to recommend things to PC gamers that aren't really games.

Too many logic bugs and not enough content. You can play the game in 15-20 minutes. Sometimes, the text or graphics refer to things that have not happened in your storyline. I didn't like the artwork for Faye either.

Je ne m'attendais pas à grand chose et c'est exactement ce que j'ai eu. Jeu narratif avec des choix multiples qui influencent plus où moins le déroulement des événements dans une ambiance post-apocalyptique envahie par des zombies, je me suis retrouvé ici en face d'un clone maladroit de The walking dead. Même en explorant les différentes possibilités, la durée de vie du jeu reste famélique. Il ne vous faudra pas plus de quinze minutes pour une partie et, grâce à une histoire qui manque cruellement de profondeur, c'est en une heure, avec le courage d'un brave qui porte sa croix, que vous en aurez plus ou moins fait le tour. Visuellement, c'est passable mais tellement générique que l'on pourrait le confondre avec un jeu flash des années 90 ! La traduction française est correcte et les effets sonores passent sans trop sourciller. La musique elle, presque absente, ne vous laissera aucun souvenir. Ce n'est pas mon genre de tirer sur l'ambulance, alors si vous êtes un peu curieux et que le jeu est en promo du genre gratuit ou presque, pourquoi pas, mais faites comme moi ou Dewey : ne vous attendez pas à grand chose car vous risquez quand même d'être pas mal déçu. Bien que ce soit un titre avec du potentiel, je ne peux pas mettre une évaluation positive ! Ce serait me manquer de respect, et à vous aussi d'ailleurs !

ein lesespiel für zwischendurch. insgesamt ist es in ordnung. hat auch deutsche sprache was gut ist. einige antwortmöglichkeiten zur auswahl. der preiß dieses spiels ist im angebot für -80% sehr gut.

Got it for less than a dollar so I wasn't expecting much, but they literally couldn't even bother to include an "exit game" option. There is literally no in game menu of any kind. Want to stop playing? You have to alt-tab out of the game and click "Stop" on Steam. Possibly the most low effort game I've ever encountered.
