Obsessive fans are common for artists, but this one is different. He's found his way to the home of J.W. Eel slug, a piano player who just got a deadline from a record label, and is determined to get inside.

About
In Stan, your main objective is to record enough music before the deadline while dealing with the demands of a psycho-fan. Throughout the night, your fan will be trying to get your attention, asking for things through notes left around the house. If you ignore the notes, the fan will break in, but If you acknowledge the notes, they will ask for more. Your goal is to correctly record 10 pages of music before your label drops you, or before your Stan gets inside.

It seems that *Stan* has generated a bit of mixed feedback, but the central sentiment is that it's a compelling idea with room for improvement. The game’s unique concept—a blend of psychological horror with the pressure of meeting a creative deadline—has some potential, but it struggles with certain gameplay elements. On the one hand, the tension around your character trying to meet a deadline while an obsessive fan (Stan) harasses you is an intriguing premise. The creepy atmosphere is ramped up by Stan’s notes, which escalate the anxiety as you try to focus on composing music. The jump scares are definitely a highlight, with players noting that they are effective at heightening the sense of danger. The feeling of being watched and pursued, combined with the looming threat of the fan breaking in if you ignore his notes, contributes to a gripping experience. On the other hand, there are clear areas that need refinement. The piano mechanics—while central to the gameplay—seem to be a challenge for many players, especially those who haven’t recently played or read music. The controls are cited as unclear and difficult to grasp, which detracts from the immersion and pacing of the game. The quick pace of events may also prevent players from fully investing in the spooky atmosphere, and some players have experienced glitches, such as getting stuck or moving through walls. The game is, as some have said, more of a "proof of concept" than a finished product, and while it shows promise, it still needs significant polishing in terms of mechanics and pacing. The reference to "Stan" in your reviews, which seems to allude to the famous Eminem song "Stan," adds an interesting layer to the game. The fan's obsessive and potentially dangerous behavior mirrors the themes in the song, which can heighten the sense of dread and unease as you try to evade Stan's increasingly frantic demands. In short, *Stan* has some genuinely spooky moments and an intriguing concept, but it’s a work in progress. The game could be a lot more engaging if the piano mechanics were smoother and the controls were clearer, allowing players to focus on the tense atmosphere without frustration. The jump scares are a strength, and the creepy fan interaction has potential to be truly unsettling, but it’s not quite there yet in terms of execution. Fans of psychological horror and unique, offbeat experiences may still find *Stan* worth a try, especially if they're willing to overlook some of its rough edges.

Sanatçılar için takıntılı hayranlar yaygındır, ancak bu farklı. Bir plak şirketinden son teslim tarihi alan ve içeri girmeye kararlı olan bir piyano sanatçısı olan J.W. Eel Slug'ın evine giden yolu buldu.
And put controls in pause menu, not in the Steam page description.
It is a good proof of concept but not a finished product. The controls are not there and unclear, it moves to fast for the player to get invested in the spooky nature. The jump scares are very effective though.
Игра кривоватая и багованная, но я прошёл.
