Nothing but the stink of old, moist carpets, the madness of mono-yellow, and the blinding light of fluorescent bulbs at maximum hum-buzz. Over 600 million sq. miles of randomly segmented rooms. God save you if you hear something wandering nearby, because it sure as hell has heard you.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.

Very good game that is fun but suspenseful. Movie is good too
For being one of if not the first backrooms game ever made I think it was pretty solid! Wasn't a lot of lore to work with at the time I think this game came out MONTHS after the backrooms originally surfaced! With all the slop backrooms games being released constantly its always refreshing to play a solid one from time to time Playthrough below! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZJG0XQmhZE

The Backrooms Game FREE Edition
Yes. It looks like typical low-effort ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but give it some time and it picks up. I mean it.
I admit I’m an older gamer, so I constantly find myself looking at many new games with confusion as why anyone would want to play said game. I also don’t understand why people watch other people play games online, so with that, it is highly likely this game just wasn’t intended for my generation. My youngest daughter tried to explain the whole premise of that game to me after I found it on my Steam account. So, being that I now have some free time I’m trying to fill with gaming, I decided to give it a go. The only thing I got out of this game was fifteen minutes of boredom wondering if anything was ever going to happen besides the lights flickering. By the time light bulbs started to burst and the screen started to blur like Hollywood's ill attempts of showcasing a bad acid trip, I had already decided the game wasn’t for me. And after the second time “it” got me and I just fell through the floor into nothingness for no apparent reason, I had had more than my fill of The Backrooms. Maybe I’m too old to appreciate whatever it is this game is trying to be, but my takeaway was that it wasn’t scary, it wasn’t interesting, it wasn’t fun, and it certainly wasn’t for me. I wouldn’t recommend.
Well, it's a game based on the Backrooms lore...and that's it. Exactly what it sounds like and available for free. It is a mildly interesting experience within the genre and will hold your interest for perhaps one or two complete journeys through this peculiar liminal space. There are horror elements but it's not a credible enough construction to be decently scared. The devs have been putting out media updates sometimes for the last few years, but I'm fairly sure the project is functionally abandoned. For no price, I will offer my tepid approval.
fun but very boring hopefully updates will improve this
One of the first among the tide of Backrooms themed games. This one is very simplistic. You walk around and go insane. No monsters, which is a pretty unique take considering all of the other media usually has at least one creature stalking you. It's whatever. Probably not worth your time, if you wanted to sink an hour into it. Download it and play for maybe twenty to thirty minutes and you get the gist. Still, not that bad. Can't recommend it tho. It's literally got nothing going on.
You can easily criticize the game as well as crap on it honestly. It's got the charm of being absolutely true to the OG creepypasta, I mean, size and all. But the bummer is that there's NO different rooms, biomes, levels, or any creative liberties. Don't expect Kane Pixels level of detail, and, don't expect anything more than what you see. It's exactly what you get lol. 600 MILLION square feet of plain yellow halls and buzzing lights, with the only gimmick of having to check your watch every 30 to 60 seconds... Which is more annoying than challenging in my opinion. But you have to take into account that this game came out like, within a few months of the OG creepypasta being posted? That's ALL they had to work with, and for being among the very first few games to even touch the subject, I'd say they kinda nailed it. Just comparing to modern day's library of games is not very fair.
