Fast-paced action survival game! Stay alive by collecting batteries, which are dropped by enemies. You must choose wisely how many enemies to spawn. Too few and you'll run out of batteries, but too many and you'll be overrun! HOW LONG CAN YOU SURVIVE??

This is a strange game that involves your on-screen character activating local cells, getting enemies that pop out to chase after you. If they do not succeed, they have a brief time period where they turn grey, and you walk up to them to stab them, and collect their "batteries" because you also require batteries to last longer. If they chase you and comes into contact with you, they steal your batteries. The game starts off on a slow pace, as you are wandering around activating enemies one at a time. If you decide to, you can speed things up by activating multiple enemies. This is all so confusing to talk about. The game is over if you are out of batteries, which starts draining rapidly after about a minute or so into each run. So even if you think the game is too slow paced in the beginning, you have to pick up the speed of the game as you go on chasing higher scores, otherwise you lose. Fortunately there is a mouse control option, as I find that to be the easiest control to use. Not bad for a score-chasing game, this has several modes available that you can choose from after unlocking them by staying alive longer, etc. There are some unlockable skins too. 6/10 for a 0.99 USD score chaser, with decent challenges within the game. Check out the Steam trailer, since that shows you a good amount of the gameplay and if you think you might like it, give it a try. Or catch it on sale, it's a good way to spend a few minutes at a time.
I received the product for free. I did not receive any compensation to write this review. I am having great fun making tactical decisions as skill improves! Good instructions and desciptions of the enemies, all easy to understand. Fun graphics and music while you play. As you level up you unlock different gamemodes with new enemies to defeat and new skins for Stabby (and bigger swords). There is a practice mode well worth trying to get the hang of the game or just to relax. You want to have your battleplan ready to become king Stabby. I am still working on that one, it's very hard! Unique game I am enjoying immensely. Well worth the price for an already polished game in development. Impressive! Well done to the developers! New enemies? New strategies? New abilities? Can't wait for updates!

"Stabby Machine" is a simple "I can't believe it's not Adobe Flash" tier arcade action game slapped together with the blight on gaming that is GameMaker Studio (responsible for an immense amount of amateur shovelware and zero smash hit games). All you do in this game is flail about attacking various spheres. There's only one mildly interesting mechanism, you need to balance the number of enemies you can take... too few and you run out of batteries then the game ends. Which, unfortunately, is the best thing that can happen to you, because then it's over. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs to pretend they're mobile phones or Commodore 64s. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $2 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
Before I played Stabby Machine, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
Stabby Machine is a nice Indie Arcade game that is fast paced. It features 4 different modes. You can collect coins by killing bosses and buying cosmetics and power-ups. The big downside for me is that two achievements are broken- "Illumination" and "I am Glorious". I haven't tested the "Quadra King" achievement. It's a free game so try it.
