Fun and charming indie game reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid for the PS1.
good game
Cool Metal Gear Solid 1 inspired game!
Legitimately surprised by this one. I'd never thought enemies would react to my shadow projected in front of them in a small game like this. Core gameplay loop is solid to justify its roguelite nature. Missions have enough variety, between different possible objectives, map layouts and weapon/item loadouts you can build and bring with you. Haven't unlocked much yet, but it happened frequently in my three hours of playing it. My only gripe with it is tutorials only being displayed once, so if you return to it after a while you're on your own. Would be nice to have some sort of in-game instructions manual that detailed mechanics as you unlock them through progression.
BOSS!!???
I really wanted to like this game. I had high (but reasonable) expectations and was looking forward to finally playing this game. It is obviously inspired by Metal Gear, a series I grew up playing. But right off the bat, this game took a huge dip as soon as I heard the AI voice acting. It's honestly just awful, and incredibly obvious. I would rather have bad voice acting than AI voice acting. There's a reason the old RE games are remembered with such fondness. There's a certain charm to it. The gameplay, while I can see the potential of what it could be if it was executed right, it just wasn't. It was frustrating and often some of the stealth mechanics like corner takedowns just wouldn't work. I've seen some of the other reviews saying the AI voice acting was fixed. Clearly it wasn't. I'm more than likely going to return this, but honestly, the game should have put a disclaimer in the description and info about its use of AI. I would have never supported it in the first place.
I'll admit, it's a bit rough right now, but it is functional and getting worked on, and if you're looking for that MGS1 hit, there's not too many more options.
An interesting, fun, flawed, but loving homage to the classic Metal Gear Solid games.
Im posting a review mainly cause a bunch of clowns were bombing the game and crying in the discussions cause of ai voice acting, not holding their end of the bargain ''No real voice acting, no buy''. Bout the game itself, if youre expecting MGSV then youll be disappointed, dunno bout how it compares to MGS1, since I was poor growing up and not being able to afford a PS then. As a stand alone game, yeah, it not bad, and c'mon its a 15$ game by what a single guy/small team its not fair to expect a Kojima game, dont you think?
