About
SPRAWL zero is a first-person shooter inspired by 2000s console FPS games. Both the aesthetics and design sensibility call back to the Golden Age, where the genre evolved from shooting in corridors to building worlds.
You play as FIVE, a cybernetically enhanced supersoldier controlled by the Junta. Your directive is to eliminate SILAS, leader of the radical techno-religious group IMAGO-DEI. The city will plunge into chaos as all factions known and unknown grasp for the reins. Reconcile your truths or succumb to the SPRAWL.
Combat in SPRAWL zero is fast-paced but grounded. Enemy squads will communicate and coordinate to wrestle the advantage. Flanks, covering fire, and grenades will flush you out, creating dynamic firefights inspired by classics like F.E.A.R. and Halo.
In your hands, FIVE must outsmart and outmaneuver the opposition using any advantage possible. Catch their bullets and throw them right back with the Gravity Shield, or bend your shots midair with Bullet-Time for inhuman precision. A massive arsenal of weapons and FIVE’s cybernetics are your tools of destruction.
Gravity Gloves, Gravity Shield, and Rushdown expand combat beyond gunplay, enabling aggressive pushes, defensive play, and physics-driven encounters. No problem has just one solution.
Handcrafted levels feature multiple paths, verticality, and alternate approaches, rewarding experimentation and replayability. Push aggressively, play tactically from cover, or dominate encounters through physics-based combat. Player agency was a fundamental pillar of Y2K design, and SPRAWL zero accommodates players to find their own niche.

A game that is close to being good, but overall doesn't really do anything particularly outstanding or original, besides the no reloading/ throw mechanic. It shows all its tricks very fast, and personally, i don't feel like it captures the era its going for.
better than sex 2
they do, in fact, make them like this anymore

Absolutely kicks ASS.
dont play the demo its a waste of time just but the game
Easly my GOTY contender. The sheer amount of dopamine each feedback loop of shooting gun, throwing gun, getting another gun gives is something out of prime DOOM or QUAKE. Once you get the hang of the gameplay loop (and optionally bhopping), all that enjoyment multiplies. New game+ is a delight to play, and after that, all the RELIC challenges are also pretty fun. They seem challenging at first sight, but all are doable.
Very mixed. im gonna yap about it TL:DR - the first 20 minutes is good, if you wanna play it more just play on the easiest difficulty and maybeee you will have some fun The game has an incredible artstyle and presentation, they absolutely nailed replicating a 2000s FPS in the design, story, gameplay, pretty much everything. That's the issue. They also replicated all the damn bad things of an FPS like that. The more you go into the game, the more it feels like an old game you have remember fondly and came back to play, only to realize that it kinda plays like ♥♥♥♥ I saw other people say that the demo was incredible (I didn't play it) and the rest of the game has it's problems, and yeah I can see it. The game is the most fun at the beginning where it all comes together nicely, without the enemies obnoxiously scaled up in stats, and all the problems that come into light the more you play. That's why I'm so mixed... I love the artstyle, games similar to this, so by all means I should love the gameplay, but man.. It was just bad to play. The later levels I only got through by just bhopping through them as I could not be bothered to engage in any fights anymore, and stupidly it was waaay more effective than actually playing smart or at least the way it was intended. The game in both mechanics and the store page, tells you that you're supposed to play smart and not just fast, but it absolutely discourages you to play smart and playing fast is the jankiest thing of all time. - You cannot continuously sprint as any time you grab a ledge or slide or do anything really, your sprint will stop, even if you don't have it on toggle. Might not seem like much but it's extremely annoying and kills you sometimes. - Picking up weapons during a fight with lots of enemies is an absolute nightmare. For the game's main gimmick and selling point, it's waaay too unwieldy and frustrating. Anything you do just seems to cancel each other out so you have to fully wait and let it do it's thing. A lot of times despite clearly having it avaiable and pressing it, it will just.. not happen?? For what reason exactly is unclear to me, whether I left the range after I already pressed the button or it got stuck on something, I wouldn't know. There is also a stupidly long delay?/cooldown? if you try to pick up different weapons in quick succession, making you wait a very uncomfortable second to do it - Following on that it all still just kinda sucks, jankiness or not. Whether it's intended or not (I can't even tell), throwing weapons is an absolute joke. An actual circus is in town any time I do it. I'm rolling around on the floor in laughter it's such a massive joke. Throwing weapons at an enemy does exactly nothing, no damage, not even stagger them for a second... isn't that the whole point?? To stun the enemy for just enough time for you to pick up another gun??? guess not - Slowing down time is only really useful for the beginning of the game and then after that its just not worth it at all, completely overshadowed by the shield which is pretty much a requirement for any encounter later. The slow down is also very bad to use, as it will constantly flicker off and then back on without your control when picking up objects. The UI also doesn't help the feel of it at all, as there is no option for any kind of crosshair bar or anything like that... which would be fine, if the UI in the corner wasn't all in the same exact color and shade, with no indication for anything, so you have to fully take your focus away and look at the corner to know how much power you got left. + Same applies to enemy hp at the top. - Rushdown is a terrible power, as it will just eat up all your power for absolutely nothing, because activating it so stupid and obtuse that doing literally anything will just disable it, with you not getting any use from it at all. Even if you do manage to use it, the results are medicore at best. - Melee is also a complete joke. I understand it's meant as a last resort, as you can only use it when weaponless and it's mostly used to stun. But my god, between the time I start winding up a punch and hitting it, I could go explore the world, get married and have 12 children, grow old, and when Im on my deathbed I will finally get to see the punch connect.. assuming I didn't just die before it hit. Now for the biggest problems I had, which made me not want to engage in any fight at all - The guns are complete garbage and the enemies are complete bullet sponges. So many issues probably wouldn't be as glaring if not for the simple fact that every enemy just has a gazilion health and the weapons deal damage in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ negatives. Add on top of that, gazilion enemies every encounter later in the game. Add on that open spaces with no cover and snipers or enemies that don't care about your shield, or both at once. Add on that, stupid artificial shields for enemies that just take a gazilion ammo and no way to engage with them thats remotely interesting. - Playing safely gets more and more pointless the longer you play, as the gazilion enemies and shielded melee enemies will just rush you down and ya know... you gotta get more guns somehow, your ammo is gonna end in 2 seconds of shooting. - Now for the most important thing... the guns feel like ass. It's so sad. The fact they do so little damage to the average enemy and barely even stagger them, just makes it all feel so bland to shoot. With the worst example, which even made me mention it, the shotguns. It's sad that out of all games, this one is the one for me but the shotguns here might actually be the worst shotguns I have ever seen in any videogame. Your melee has like 3x more range than them, they do actually such miniscule damage that I didn't even notice it, and the fire shotgun feels like completely nothing to shoot, no feedback at all, nothing. - The boss fight... no words for it. It's just complete ass... idk man, maybe I was playing it wrong, or Im just bad or something, everyone else seems to love this game and I wish I did too, its right up my alley so I should love it. But I dont :c yap sesh over
