About
SPRAWL zero is a first-person shooter inspired by 2000s console FPS games. Both the aesthetics and design sensibility call back to the Golden Age, where the genre evolved from shooting in corridors to building worlds.
You play as FIVE, a cybernetically enhanced supersoldier controlled by the Junta. Your directive is to eliminate SILAS, leader of the radical techno-religious group IMAGO-DEI. The city will plunge into chaos as all factions known and unknown grasp for the reins. Reconcile your truths or succumb to the SPRAWL.
Combat in SPRAWL zero is fast-paced but grounded. Enemy squads will communicate and coordinate to wrestle the advantage. Flanks, covering fire, and grenades will flush you out, creating dynamic firefights inspired by classics like F.E.A.R. and Halo.
In your hands, FIVE must outsmart and outmaneuver the opposition using any advantage possible. Catch their bullets and throw them right back with the Gravity Shield, or bend your shots midair with Bullet-Time for inhuman precision. A massive arsenal of weapons and FIVE’s cybernetics are your tools of destruction.
Gravity Gloves, Gravity Shield, and Rushdown expand combat beyond gunplay, enabling aggressive pushes, defensive play, and physics-driven encounters. No problem has just one solution.
Handcrafted levels feature multiple paths, verticality, and alternate approaches, rewarding experimentation and replayability. Push aggressively, play tactically from cover, or dominate encounters through physics-based combat. Player agency was a fundamental pillar of Y2K design, and SPRAWL zero accommodates players to find their own niche.

fun little game, played the entire thing in one sitting. wears it's inspirations on it's sleeve, especially in some of the gun designs and dialogue. very well optimized, stable 200+ fps through out the entire game, no crashes, no stuttering, all on max settings. only real complaint is that if you stand completely still you'll still bob left and right ever so slightly and it can't be turned off. other than that its pretty good
Really fun core gameplay loop, but it's way too easy, which makes it too easy to start playing mindlessly. I only died three times on the hardest difficulty on my first playthrough and two of them were due to instakill attacks and the last time was on the final boss' final phase. If they just had enemies do twice as much damage, that would be my biggest complaint with the game solved. Also don't love how they just kind of throw you into the middle of the story without context. It wasn't a big deal because the story was relatively predictable, anyways, but I still think it made it harder for the ending to feel resonant.
You never got a sense for what Five was leaving behind to join Father other than a relatively generic betrayal.
The themes not landing terribly well wasn't too much to this game's detriment, as the story sequences' presentation are incredibly unique. The game's presentation overall is just fantastic. Never seen that early-2000's-shooter style replicated quite so well. The aesthetic really understood what made the mood work in the best of those games.

Not just addicting gameplay, but the world building, art and story are all cool asf. Gonna need multiple play throughs to catch everything. Congrats on the game, ya'll, 10/10.
The movement is smooth and the combat is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome I could blabber on and on about it buuut I'll try to keep it short. The loop of snagging a gun or melee off the ground, using it, throwing it at your enemies and then taking their weapon is so fun. I love that you don't have to stick with using the same weapon, it keeps the combat fresh for the entire game. As for the abilities, I didn't use bullet time that much but it was nice for a couple near-death moments. Both rushdown and shield were really really fun to play with while fighting. Absolutely loved this game and I can definitely see myself coming back to play through it again with some of the modifiers.
Great gunplan and core gameplay. Music was also better then expected. Gives the same vides I had playing halo and half-life years ago. A short game not much to do outside the core gameplay loop, try and buy on sale. Final boss is weak.
very fun shooter with unique gameplay elements, I like that the enemy ai isn't too braindead like in a lot of games in this genre
Beyond expectations!!! The game a sprawl of older mechanics. Ranging from fast past shooting, health pickups and overall, great design. Ranging from sound, gun, level design, and effects. The only negative, is the game does have some back tracking and you can get lost. But the developers provided a nifty objective pathing system that helps. Especially during the toxic gas levels. Experienced a bug where I was able to use the chainsaw and kill a enemy, allowing me to slide jump out of the level. Also experience a break dancing block from a wall ;)
Definitely succeeded in being a love letter to 2000's first person shooters. Music is awesome just like the first game. Especially love the villain's motif.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.
They've done it again, sprawl 0 is easily the best indie FPS to drop this year. The music direction is just as good if not better than the original and the perspective/ability swap vs the original game are very interesting and create a lot of room for freedom of expression when it comes to handling arenas. The gunplay is responsive and incredible and since you're forced to constantly rifle through what's on the battlefield due to ammo constraints you'll constantly be finding new gems. This halflifehalo love letter is one you won't want to miss.
