A beautiful and thoughtful game about life and death and family. A bit of a collect-o-thon at times, and it feels a little frontloaded with the best characters, though a few of the later characters are delightful. Gorgeous design and aesthetic, very fun gameplay, great writing, at times funny and quirky and at times devastatingly sad. All in all, a very unique game that I enjoyed pretty much every minute of.
Very relaxing and cozy game with old disney vibe graphics and deep storylines of characters of their past lives on earth, representing real life problems that people go through. Game is best for people with a sense of empathy bc it would make it easier to understand characters perspective, and for people who just want to slow down and chill. Game also has an amazing soundtrack that can really calm a person down. Very recommended ❤

I have mixed feelings about this game. I can tell why it is so loved by so many, but by the end of the game I felt a little discontented. Pros: -Adorable animations, lovely colors, and fun areas to explore -Unique characters that quickly invested me in their stories, and left me genuinely heartbroken and teary eyed at points -Expert storytelling for deep and challenging topics -Generally fun gameplay, including crafting, navigating and exploring, building, farming, platforming, and more. Cons: -The sailing part is SLOW. So very, very slow. It was fine at first when I needed to mine resources while sailing, but by the end it was a slog to get through. There are fast track options meant to save you time, but they have the same issues I have with other cozy games like Animal Crossing where even the "shortcuts" are slow. Made for a tough time the last 10 hours or so of gameplay, especially when it is basically all you are doing for hours on end. -The ending was not satisfying for me. I felt so emotionally drained by assisting the other characters (in a good way) and then the final interaction just felt like nothing in comparison. In another game that didn't invest so much into its storytelling the rest of the time, this wouldn't have bothered me. It's not a bad ending by any means, but it isn't amazing. And that is only noticeable because the rest of the game was so good that the finale having a drop in quality was noticeable and impactful in a way that left me dissatisfied. Overall I enjoyed 3/4ths of my time playing it. And it is incredibly lovingly crafted by a clearly passionate team, so I can't do anything but recommend it. I only wish the ending was a bit stronger than it turned out to be.
Beautiful art, music, and story.
Purchased on the strength of a demo. It's a tough game based on subject matter as it's about end of life stuff. It is done in such a nice "cozy" way however. The game never pressures you hard to complete stuff, it's all about going at your own pace. It may hit you hard emotionally. I know every trip to the Everdoor got my eyes watering. Maybe my room is too dusty, I don't know. Anyway, definitely recommend this.
amazing game.
One of the best "cozy" games out there. Definitely makes you feel something as you (and your spirits) progress. If anybody is on the fence about whether or not they want to play this game, just do it. It is well-worth your time and money. You will understand when you let the game happen to you. I also 100% it in 1 run (I did the save-scumming for the choosing options achievements), which didn't feel like a slog at all and it honestly made it more enjoyable to be able to, not just have to complete my spirits requests, but also to have to make all of them ecstatic at one point or another before moving on (for the rarest achievement). Would definitely recommend trying to do this if you want to, and I would recommend against using a guide if possible (up until you can't do it yourself).
