BAD!!!!
Played through level 4 then game crashed and wouldn't let me advance. erased game files, re-downloaded and now I can't even pass level one. The landing area is broken. Asked for help, no response.
a weaker man would've added air strafing, but this game is not for the weak
This is a lovely little game that is more than worth the 5 dollars I spent. It is pretty short, it took me almost 6 hours to play through all 20 levels, but I've paid more for less time, so I'm not complaining too much. In every level, you have to jump off a platform using wasd, and then you move entirely using the grapple hook controlled by your mouse. The game has a simple but more than effective simulation of pendulum physics which you use to redirect your momentum as you fly through the various levels. If you have a basic understanding of pendulum physics, its pretty easy to to figure out where you need to grapple to traverse the level with ease (if you don't, the game might feel rather unintuitive). The hard part tends to be getting the right timing on throwing the grapple out and reeling it back in. But once you get that timing down and get into a flow, this game just feels great to play.
Great concept, challenging, and fun. Speed Swing is a physics game where you use your momentum to swing from one object to another with a grappling hook to reach the goal. Movement is minimal as your air control is dependant on the angle of your swings, there is no air strafing or any form of air control with the WASD keys. There are 20 levels that increase in difficulty with complex swinging requirements and online leaderboards for the fastest level clear. Graphically the game isn't appealing and the menu can do with updated graphics and animations. I would like to see a game like this in the future adopt certain elements such as surfing off ramps and air strafing similar to Source Engine.
I really like the game, I think it's actually pretty smart, the first few levels actually teach you that you need to think differently to finish these levels, but I think there should be a tutorial for beginners to teach them how to understand the mechanics and how to approach these levels. but really good game overall.
I didn't go into it expecting much. It was a cheap platforming game based on swinging around on a rope. I was expecting a Spider-man esque experience to cleverly get to a location. Instead it turned out to be a "You will do the precise inputs required or you will fail the level". Plus it feels like the rope behaves poorly half the time. It was less "Speed Swing" and more "Slow Swing" as you repeat the same level over and over hoping for the rope to behave like it should while you're trying to do actions that require far too precise inputs. Half of the time you fail it's not even your fault. The rope just decided to stop your momentum. I'd avoid this game.
