About
Space Engineers is an open world sandbox game about designing, building and testing your own space machines. Construct ships, stations and planetary bases in a fully destructible environment, then explore planets and space, mine resources, survive hazards and engage in combat alone or with friends in Creative or Survival modes.
Play solo or in multiplayer, from small co-op outposts to huge community servers. Start with a simple lander, grow into a mining and industrial empire, or focus on warships and planetary fortresses – the game gives you the tools and physics, you decide what to build.
Space Engineers uses a volumetric physics engine: every block and voxel has mass, inertia and damage. Ships break apart, stations crumble and terrain can be drilled, carved and reshaped, so your engineering choices really matter.
Space Engineers is grounded in real engineering and hard science fiction, driven by realism and plausible near-future technology. Think modern space programs extrapolated into the future: realistic ships, stations, tools and systems where everything is built and simulated block by block. It’s about the machinery you build, not about magic or scripted set-pieces.

I have over DAY's worth of play in this game. Dear klang (TM) is it good!!!
This is one where the neutral button would be useful. Very, VERY flexible sandbox for building and crafting, but the menus are a hot mess. Like iredeemably bad. They feel like they've been made as a placeholder during some Proof of concept or early alpha and then never been properly iterated on. They are messy, unintuitive, completely hairbrained in their layout, have way too much uselsess information while also not providing a lot of relevant info unless you know in exactly which submenu of a submenu you need to look and the ingame tutorial basically tells you to google it. (There are some links to some videos but they are outdated AF) Then there's the wolves. Or Ballistic ordinance with teeth. They spawn 20km away, smell you, pick the straightest line posible right vor your crotch and start biting. The amount of times i've tabbed out to read an email or google something real quick and come back to my corpse next to a wolf is mindblowing. and let's not even talk about their sad excuse for weapons. they handle, sound and feel like toys. all of them. But, the crafting and building are excelent. If you enjoy a deep and complex building system and don't mind having 2 wikis, 4 youtube videos and 3 reddit threads open while you play then this is for you.
Is good game is good.
honestly meh 5/10
The replayability of this game's survival mode is truly something else. This is especially so if you impose handicaps on yourself to not just steal or buy everything you need to cheese block research progression Do this while turning down welding speed and assembler efficiency, and you have *hours* of things to do without it becoming too tedious or punishing, rather you instead have to get creative to overcome hurdles: "Build a ship for this", "build a ship for that", "creative a pipeline from here to there" and so on. Now give yourself personal goals, such as" "Start on a earthlike/mars and build a base" > " Build a base on the planet's moon" > "Build a space station" > "Jump to the Alien Planet and build a really fancy base there." With exercising a bit of self-discipline, this is a game that keeps on giving and if you take a break from the game for a while before finishing your personal goals? You can just continue them where you left off if you get the itch to play again; or start over again from the beginning to try a different approach. There's a reason why I have over 3000 hours played in this game: it because it's sprinkled in here and there over the the course of almost 13 years now. Where I have yet to make it to that damn Alien planet. ...But *this* time will be different! Oh yes, it will! Because I *this* time have a better plan than last time! And the time before that! ...And the time before that! And if not this time...? I'll *definitely* make it there next time! ...Probably!
