About
Space Engineers is an open world sandbox game about designing, building and testing your own space machines. Construct ships, stations and planetary bases in a fully destructible environment, then explore planets and space, mine resources, survive hazards and engage in combat alone or with friends in Creative or Survival modes.
Play solo or in multiplayer, from small co-op outposts to huge community servers. Start with a simple lander, grow into a mining and industrial empire, or focus on warships and planetary fortresses – the game gives you the tools and physics, you decide what to build.
Space Engineers uses a volumetric physics engine: every block and voxel has mass, inertia and damage. Ships break apart, stations crumble and terrain can be drilled, carved and reshaped, so your engineering choices really matter.
Space Engineers is grounded in real engineering and hard science fiction, driven by realism and plausible near-future technology. Think modern space programs extrapolated into the future: realistic ships, stations, tools and systems where everything is built and simulated block by block. It’s about the machinery you build, not about magic or scripted set-pieces.

This game is so beginner-unfriendly it's insane. I wanted to try this game with a friend, but little did I know it would be a nightmare to even figure out how to do that. You can't do the tutorials maps OR quick start with a friend. You HAVE to create a new game, and you're presented with so many options you don't even have a clue which one is the right one to pick. Then you get into the game, and you have no idea how to even find your friend. I literally had to go to the internet to figure it out because this game is so convoluted. Ended up spending nearly 3 hours not even playing the game, just trying to figure out how things work and trying to find my friend on the map. I bet this game can be fun, but only after you've taken an entire educational course on how to play it. Honestly can't believe I wasted my money on this garbage game that doesn't care about or even understand a new player.
I tried to play this game. It looks cool, but I keep experiencing crashes and lag. I have a high-end PC, so that's definitely not the issue. Yeah, don't buy it.
The fact the game is pieced out in DLC is very predatory. Absolute no for me. 30 dollars for the early access and then the low low payment of 6.85 18 more times to get the complete game. -10/10
Game was almost completely incomprehensible. I did Quick Start, which ended up being a combat-driven story. Got stuck because it autosaved after I ran out of rockets in my tank so I grindered the door I was supposed to blow up? Turns out you can just grinder everything in this game Lindsey Graham would have loved it. At no point was I shown how to build anything. Then I tried sandbox mode and apparently there's just a ship with a fighter and an asteroid base and a PoI that will take you something like 15 hours to reach by ship? Absolutely unclear what the meaning of this is supposed to be. I started going by ship and discovered that this supposedly realistic space game limits your maximum speed in the ship to like 100m/s. Really strange and unintuitive. I have no idea whether it's even possible to build a faster ship and am not even clear on what laws of physics may or may not be in effect, since the game doesn't appear to be using the normal set of them. Also the fighter just didn't work. Out of fuel? Have no idea. I launched in it and it just slowly drifted away from the ship. Flew back to the ship with my suit and then the fighter no longer had a PoI on the radar. Is this supposed to be fun? Guess I'll go play X4.
This game assues so much. If you come in knowing nothing about it, it just assumes you know what to do. even the tutorials assume you have the basics. I have spent hours trying to get things to happen only time after time arriving at a point where I dont know what to do. I just keep having to poke at the key board until I stumble upon something. Very frustrating. A complete waste of money.
Хочешь красиво - плати хочешь функциональность и удобство - плати ДЛС НА 6К, а в игре все ещё нельзя делать чертежи с поршнями + аналогов блоков с длс в обычной игре нет из-за чего ничего стоящего внутри не построишь
100$ in DLC and rising. Mostly cosmetic...which is..*mostly* fine. Except for one thing.. The actual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game hasnt had an actual update in years. Its still the same bugged empty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nothing game.
Every time I play this game it makes me want to leave my wife and children because nothing is more fulfilling than smashing into asteroids and fixing space doors. The only thing more fun that menial labor, is menial labor in space! It's nice having a job because in my real life I've been unemployed for two years.
pcu is gotta be the single worst mechanic i have ever seen. it just stops me from building anything for performance reasons even though i have no performance issues and can handle more. and even enabling admin powers cannot disable this limit, i have to search information online and enable unsafe settings that have corrupted my creative mode safe file. i had to mess with the backups and safe to a different file when the file loaded as normal to be able to keep my progress. why does a performance feature require me to enable safe file corrupting settings to bypass it? still can't build more. this game with all of it's dlcs is the most expensive game i have so why does it have such a pointless road block that causes more issues than it solves?
