the only video game that matters n sega delists it. the world is completely upside down
Space Channel 5: Part 2 is a super stylish rhythm game that leans hard into music, vibes, and early-2000s charm. The inputs are simple, but messing up the timing can be brutal, which keeps it tense. The soundtrack rules, the presentation is loud and goofy, and Ulala is still iconic. It’s short, but it sticks with you if you’re into retro arcade stuff.
Space Channel 5: Part 2 is one of the most delightfully unhinged rhythm games ever made — up, down, up, down, chu, chu, chu, and somehow you're hooked. The campy aesthetic, banger soundtrack, and sheer absurdity of dancing alongside Space Michael Jackson make it an absolute joy. That said, the PC port is a genuine mess: audio desync, framerate-tied timing, and a final stage that can completely break if your refresh rate isn't set to 60hz. If you can wrestle the settings into submission (check config.ini directly, don't bother with the in-game configure option), there's a brilliant game underneath — but going in blind expecting a smooth experience will frustrate you. I recommend it with the caveat that you do your homework first, because the game itself absolutely deserves to be played.

I first played this on Dreamcast circa AD 2000. It was ok, but i felt like it needed DDR footpads. I'd play it again if that was the HID. Oh, Sega. Why did you abandon your fans? Technical note. I was able to run this using Proton on Deb based Linux. Should be OK for Steambox Amazing that this all ran on a Hitachi Super H processor @200 Mhz with only 16 MB RAM. The use of GDROM was cutting edge for the day.
iconic, slayed, absolutely served, music 10/10, dancing even better, everything is so slay.

(game not finished and dropped at .3 hours of gameplay at time of review, part of my review all my games effort) (short version) No longer listed or supported, game is not optimized, yeah it was fun when it worked but it crashes (often). Since it's been removed and no longer supported it's not worth keeping or playing. Thanks for taking my money and running with it Sega.
It's a really fun game, but this isn't a very good port and SEGA has delisted it (allegedly) because they are starting a subscription service. Thanks SEGA! If you are pirating a steam version (or you spent way too much money on a cd key), make sure you have the game set to 60hz, it was doing fine for most of my playthrough but it ruined the ending scene. You also need to use DSX or ds4windows to emulate an XBOX controller if you are using a PS4/5 controller and want to use the d-pad rather than the left stick. Just emulate it! It's not like the money spent on a CD key would go to anyone who deserves it anyways.
