Beautiful game. The combat does get a little samey, and is not the highlight of the game, but the platforming and the story are interesting and remarkable. I really enjoyed the stop-motion style of the art, and the character designs were often gorgeous to look at. The real star of this is the soundtrack, which is probably why there are, I believe, 2 soundtrack albums available. Olivier DeRivier is always a favorite for a score, and the fact that each of the levels has a song that is delivered verse at a time, as you progress through story points, keeps it interesting and fun. The bosses that have their own songs playing as you proceed are also really nice. As with his Vampyr soundtrack, I have continued to listen to this one after having played the game (and in truth was convinced to start the game based on seeing that he was the composer).

遊戲玩法過於單一，技能數量過少，基本上就是簡化版的戰神或是星際大戰系列。劇情也過於好猜，沒有太多驚喜感。好處是優化還不錯，整體遊玩順暢。

J'ai vraiment passé un très agréable moment sur ce jeu. Un jeu remplie de bienveillance et cela fait du bien dans ces périodes moroses que l'on traverse Enfin un jeu avec une vraie patte graphique qui sort de l'ordinaire, j'ai trouvé que cela collait super bien à l'histoire. C'est très beau, les décors, les mobs et les boss sont vraiment travaillé. c'est excellent L'histoire est originale avec une réelle profondeur, je n'en dévoilerais pas plus. Et pour une fois, le personnage féminin n'est pas hyper sexualisé ce que l'on a plus l'habitude de voir La bande-son est géniale, elle colle hyper bien au phase de jeu avec un sytle jazz new orléan. Le seul bémol est lors de certaines phases de course sur plateforme, la caméra est un peu moyenne. Pour 40 balles laissez vous tenter, il est meilleur que certains triple A vendre à 70 balles. I read somewhere that it's a woke game because the main protagonist is a black woman. I guess the gooner players are as dumb as ever. It's an amazing game filled with catchy music and beautiful background characters' stories. The game has a very simple mechanic, but on the hardest mode, every fight has very satisfying gameplay. It has fair price for such a game — I'm glad it won the GOTY nomination in one genre. They fully deserved it. It proves that games made on Unreal Engine can be something else.

It hurts me to not recommend this game, but after uninstalling it and not completing, I don't think its fair to recommend. I wish I had put the game on the easiest setting and just played it for what it is, a really beautiful work of art, but goodness gracious is the combat absolutely miserable. This game has so much going for it, the voice acting, the environment, the characters, the setting. It felt like finally we have a really awesome female protagonist in a game set in the deep south that gives the swamp witch vibes I've always dreamed of playing, but its just not fun. For a game that feels like there's going to be some incredible magic, the combat is just redundant and lack luster. On the medium settings, I personally found it difficult which resulted in me spending way too much time in combat sequences. I wish I had set it to easy to just get through it faster and focus on the story, but I also wasn't expecting to play this game only for the story either. Someday I'll replay it with the easiest settings so I can basically skip all combat and just get through the game, but in a sea of other fun games to play, I would rather pick something else to play over what amounts to a movie with some platforming.

[h1] Добротный художественный проект - слабая игра [/h1] Неплохая адвенчура на пару вечеров, в необычном сеттинге Южной Готики и стоп-моушн анимации. Главная героиня довольно харизматична и ненадоедлива, художественный стиль и саундтрек потрясающие. Геймплей средненький: нормальный платформинг, боёвка плавная и мобильная, но глубины не хватает категорически. Он тут по сути нужен просто чтобы был повод игру игрой называть. Прокачка ужасная, исследование никакущие. 150 записок без какой-либо навигации собирать никто не будет. Покритикую разве что техническое состояние и ограничения, отсутствие необходимости в последних четырёх глав (либо нужно было поменять их местами, потому что финал напрашивался сразу после Молли) и отвратительный баланс максимальной сложности, где ты тупо долбишься в жир; это никому не интересно. Ачивхантерам тоже не услужили - ачивки из разряда "убей боссов без получения урона" или "собери всю валюту для прокачки" без возможности грузить главы, отсутствия карты и адекватной навигации - просто бред. Концовка тоже подкачала. Тяп ляп - титры. История немного высосана из пальца, но в целом норм. Персонажи прям с иголочки. Боссфайты скучные. Рад, что разработчики многострадальной We Happy Few смогли сделать что-то достойное, а также вписать сюда различную мифологию и поверия. [h3] 6.5/10 [/h3]
