About

Halcyon, a military megacorp, has perfected the Soul Materialization Project—extracting a human soul and etching it into a synthetic body. But the experiment bred countless failures: Creatures that lost their minds and turned feral. The city that once housed its labs was sealed away as a Hazard Zone, left crawling with them.
You are deployed into that Hazard Zone as the Commander who leads a squad of Souls, known as S.O.U.L.

They are weapons, stripped of memory and flesh—break their bodies and they simply print anew, beings to whom even death is denied. Your mission is singular: hunt down Milo, the one who fled with the core device of the experiment.
You'll cut through the Creatures with cards and strategy, stand against other Souls who turn enemy to bar your path, and press deeper into the Hazard Zone. The more memory fragments you gather along the way, the more of who your soldiers once were begins to surface. And at last, you will stand before a choice there's no taking back….

Soul Trigger is a 2-character tactical turn-based roguelite RPG set in an urban fantasy world.
Character-driven storytelling, modular exploration, and half real-time combat come together for a uniquely immersive experience.
A unique combat system blending turn-based depth with real-time tension.
Control one character at a time on a side-view tile grid, swap with allies as the situation demands, and exploit enemy weaknesses to inflict [Down] for a tactical edge.
Tailor each character to your playstyle through [Stat Enhancement] and [Traits].
At the hub, equip [Implants] to permanently expand a character's capabilities.
During expeditions, earn [Traits] that reshape your build every run.

Every run is a single route woven from connected rooms. At each branch you choose which room to enter next, threading a path through combat, events, shops, and the boss that awaits at the end.
Which nodes you take and which you skip becomes your strategy for the run, and no sector ever unfolds the same way twice.

Choose 2 of 4 allies (Harang / Siwoo / Valentin / Locke) at the main hub and set out.
Gather resources through exploration, return to upgrade your roster, and head back out — a tight loop built for deep immersion and high replay value.

Expressive 2D illustrated characters meet richly layered 3D environments, creating a visual style both distinctive and refined.

Soul Trigger is an ambitious combination of various genres smashed together to make a very fun experience. You can play up to 4 different characters with up to 8 different abilities and many forms of customization. You enter a run with a pair of them and any 4 abilities of your choosing for each to synergize a selection of turn-based tactics. There is exploring which currently consists of basic movement, jumping, and interacting along with combat on a 1.5-dimensional plane, where you fight a decent variety of enemies. This is a rougelite in its current state with random upgrade traits as rewards for combat, a shop for rerolls, items, and healing, and unique enemy encounters. Pros: - Fun and engaging combat. - Many ways to enter a run via character ability customization, character selection, and useful stat augmentation. - A lot of cool trait upgrades to play around in a run to solidify particular playstyles. - Wide array of items you can pick up that can heavily influence the tide of battles if used correctly. - Abilities, enemies, and settings look appealing. - Good sound design. Early Access Cons (that they are working on): - UI needs a ton of work for the game to play perfectly without having to question how the game works at all times. - Exploration could use WAY more events and unique areas to experience that scale with the run. - Game's difficulty curve in the run is very wonky with its roguelite elements. If you can beat a difficult boss in Zone 8 out of 12, nothing else will challenge you as much for the rest of the zones, minus some difficult normal encounters.

Not bad but lacks a lot of quality of life mechanics that could make me recommend it the combat is fun with attacks that move you or the enemy and it feels original and fun but offensive items dont deal damage they only can stun a enemy once per battle making them near useless against bosses because of how much health they have and moving around the same area feels less like exploring the area and more like the game wants to waste my time unless there is a teleport function I didnt see.
