This game is hard as hell. If S.O.S. had a spirit animal it would be a well hung Rhinocerus. Nothing will prepare you for getting repeatedly impaled by its mighty horn. If you're into this kind of thing then keep reading. S.O.S. is a callback to the coin op arcade style games of the 80’s, when games were less forgiving and designed by super nerds out to take your lunch money. The game's narrative, driven by the stories of a lonely old man kept me feeling like sh*t was about to hit the fan. And ohhhh boy did fans get hit. So just about right for being a secret agent. That being said you will reach save points after each completed mission. I got vibes of the original Metal Gear and Spy Hunter. The atmosphere, script and gameplay made me feel like I was in an 80’s spy movie and I felt like a secret agent. I did my best to sneak by enemy guard patrols and I killed/subdued enemies when needed. I found it cool how guards patrol their bases with a mix of predetermined and random paths and will react to any suspicious activity. Even when nothing is happening, I felt like the situation could get real bad real quick. This game had me on the edge. So get ready player one, because you’re in for a helluva ride.
Do you remember those old NES games that were a challenge to get through but you kept playing it anyway because you are a glutton for the punishment that only an awesome video game could give you? Well if you made it through that EXTREMELY long question and actually do remember the good ole days -- then THIS MUTHAF***IN' game is for you. At the time of writing this document I have yet to beat the game let alone beat the boss at the end of the 1st chapter-- and you know what that really infuriates me so much that all I could do before bed was think: "Hey self, get up early... forget your kids, work and screams for justice in the hard cold streets...and go play this game again! and again!" So why should you play this game AND why do I love it... thankfully those two things are one in the same... this game is a throwback to better times and funner game play. Graphics: If you know me, and 99.9% of you don't, you would know that i looooove me some pixel art and this game has it in aliased spades... and it's not just static pieces THIS SH*T IS ANIMATED LIKE A BOSS! It is clear what is what.. the environment is beautifully made... the character animations is *kisses the air* CHEZ MAGNIFIQUE... and the overall layout and scene/level design is tops!!!!! (FYI i am a designer so i know things and this has things in it that are awesome!!) Game Design: Simple and Challenging.. just how I like it! There isn't crazy controls.... There isn't a need for a third hand... just simple character movement and weapons... as I said in the GRAPHICS section the way these levels are actually physically layed/laid/lied (whatever) out is just tops. very smart. Audio: Let's just say AWESOME SAUCE FOR MY EAR HOLES! The sound fx, environment audio and over soundtrack makes me what to throw barrels of something at italian plumbers! it makes me want to put on some cool oversized sunglasses, sit in a wicker papasan chair and just rock out! When it comes to the audio the curtains match the drapes... can you dig it? Overall this game gets 10 toes out of 10. This is the only time I wish I had an extra toe -- but i don't, thanks mom *eyeroll*. I look forward to playing this again today and tomorrow and maybe the day after that and after that and then i take a break, a man's gotta pee some time! Great Job Dinguses! ATK MTN you guys got it going on....holler atcha boi! shasta!

Holy Crap.... This game is just straight up fun. Just roll around throwing grenades and shooting people. Cant play this game in public because it forces to make crazy meniacle faces from all the mayhem. You can shoot chairs and have them roll around...... Needs to support modding so that someone can make Chair Pong.... Or Breakout with chairs and explosive barrels.
SOS is if Hyper Light Drifter and Metal Gear had a baby. Great retro feel. Definitely some very memorable and tough boss fights.
Many Rolls.
This game is fantastic. From the first moment when you enter the mansion in the rain to when the game goes back in time and you have unlimited ammo to have tons of fun, it's all awesome. It's so cool that companies are doing what they know people will love to play. Wonderful game.
Fire up you index finger and prepare that left mouse button! Challenging boss fights are rewarded with hilarious writing, good vibes and pumping adrenaline. It's hardcore. You will die. You might not be able to stop playing this game until you've beaten every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boss!! Recommend this game for anyone who enjoyed hotline miami and similiar games
very fun, great art and style, narrative is really cool, the vibe is strong!!!!
boom foosh padadada pow pow BOOM
The beginning is promising, with over the top action and the realization that you don't have just unlimited ammo for the gun, even grenades are infinite. There is a sub-boss whose gimmick is moving quite fast (he's even called Sgt. Swift) and the solution is, you guessed right, a nice chain of explosions. It's framed as the player character narrating his adventures to a grandson, so in case of death, restarting from the nearest checkpoint is "retelling". Issues, however, start to pile up almost immediately. Haphazard placement of objects and obstacles. Imprecise aiming. Cursor sometimes disappearing. Messy gameplay (you can't always tell what killed you). Iffy collisions. Pixel art that is simple but decent at first and then gets worse, with terrible choices of colors. Lots of bugs, up until the one where I was killed by what I presume was the boss of the first episode, and the key to "retell" didn't work anymore. Sad to see any potential evaporate, screen after screen.
