Video (gameplay + commentary):
https://youtu.be/y4_wZO2b90o
Review:
Up front let me say that I don't totally dislike this game and I hope it improves, at which point I would love to switch this "not recommended" rating to "recommended." I think some of my issues below are even covered in the developer's post-release roadmap and I'm looking forward to seeing how that all goes. Bottom line: At the moment, I don't think the game is particularly fun as a platformer. The game has some good things going for it: some very pleasing visuals, very soothing music, and some low stress environments where you don't feel like you need to rush your platforming. All that being said, the platforming levels themselves as well as the overall feeling of movement leave much to be desired. Jumping is very floaty and feels like you're gliding on the moon. Likewise general movement feels slightly like you're skating around, and also your momentum is hard to stop if you're trying to change direction in mid air. None of these things to me are issues individually, but combined it leads to a lot of situations where you're overshooting small platforms and falling either into a bottomless pit (where the game kindly sets you back more or less where you were when you fell), or far more punishing, you fall all the way down to the very base of a series of platforms you were slowly but surely making your way up. Which is also part of the issue I think: a lot of the platforming is simply scaling a multitude of platforms to get to the top of something, be it to collect items needed to reach the exit, or to get to the exit itself. This is both not particularly interesting and feels severely punishing if you fall after climbing 30+ platforms only to have to do it all again. There are some deviations to this formula, but they too I think could use some refinement. As an example, one puzzle has you picking up colored cubes and putting them on colored platforms which can only be reached by carrying the cube while hopping over platforms suspended over a bottomless pit. The issue here is the cube covers half your view. Ultimately it just makes platforming feel cheap and frustrating as it feels like the game blindfolded you rather than tested any actual measure of your platforming skill. This was my general impression from all the stages I played. Again, the game looks nice and sounds nice, but handles not great and the platforming elements just weren't very exciting. And again, I'm hopeful the game improves. I think it has a lot of potential and I'd love to come back and relax with the game's soothing music and hopefully upgraded platforming. I also wanted to mention -- though I'm confident this will get fixed pretty quickly -- I ran into a showstopping bug about 5 levels in where after falling into a bottomless pit, it respawned me somewhere without platforms, and thus I was stuck in an infinite loop of falling. Even restarting the game couldn't fix this. Again, I'm sure this'll get fixed fast, but worth noting until it does.
Sophica - Temples Of Mystery is a pleasant and relaxing first person puzzle platformer. Appealing environments, nice music, and easy to play - not necessarily to win though. This is a great game to relax and unwind to. Take a look at my game play video... https://youtu.be/hPhu38UdrYc Thanks for watching. Please like comment and subscribe.
I suppose if you like 3D platforming games, you might like this. Unfortunately, I didn't think that much of it.

This game isn't just about difficult platforming, but something about this one's style, music and atmosphere just made me want to keep playing. It is quite difficult, and requires you to endure countless deaths, but feels extremely rewarding to finally nail every puzzle. This game is simply beautiful. The controls feel good and has a cirtain flow to it. But the thing that I'm loving the most so far is the atmosphere. It feels like a dream. It's filled with surprises and pretty little scenarios and vistas. The people that made this game are great and love videogames. You'll see that love poured in every song and the beautiful levels. I had been keeping an eye on this for a while, since I'm a bit of a sucker for a good platformer. From everything I saw in the beta I played prior to the game's release, I knew it was going to be fantastic. When I got my hands on it, I realised it is actually better than I anticipated. It is obvious how much love went into making this game. With regards to performance, everything ran smoothly with no stuttering or crashes. The music and sound is also fantastic. I really didn't go into much detail at all on each of the aspects, but I really did enjoy the game. So I hope the developers continue to make more games!
https://youtu.be/5SjTNkqDWxs This game has some gorgeous artwork and a delightful soundtrack. The controls can sometimes feel a little bit annoying, but you get used to them. There aren't too many levels to get through, but some of them are quite challenging, and satisfying to beat!
pretty okish would recommend for tree buck
Spent about 5 hours with this game. I'm not gonna say stay away from it, but expect to get what you pay for. The jumping is something I've seen complained about, and I completely understand why. This is one of those platformers where you need to time your jumps right, and watch what's above you, especially in level 4 when scaling up the wall. Failure is absolutely punishing. I can't complain about this, I'd rather my mistakes be my own fault so I can learn from it. The brightness. Why the ♥♥♥♥ is there not an option to turn it down? Only thing I have to say about that. There's really not much else to it...This game is well...yeah...If you have 3$ to burn, might as well try it out. I recommend this, but if you have sensitive eyes like I do, I don't. The brightness will strain your eyes. Please be cautious.
It feels very peaceful at the start by soft colors and music but after a certain point, game becomes really hard for casual platform gamers. It gives the same feeling as "Getting Over It", some people may enjoy but not me.
