I find it to be a real shame that the community has not accepted this widely as a new Sonny entry. I think it's really fighting as my favorite alongside Sonny 2. It may be a less serious story, and it may not have the deep psychophysiological characterization of Sonny 2, but combat is fast-paced, fun to plan around in, and the characters have expanded tenfold. It may not have the animations, dress-up, and much voice acting as the older two games had, but this is by all accounts a more closely perfected version of the combat system we had for Sonny 2, with a story that finally has some closure (albeit a saddening but strong one), and some particularly kooky and fun characters met along the way. If you're a fan of Turn Based RPG games and prefer strategy over overlevelling, by all accounts give this one a try. The multiple strain pathways you can take make this game way more replayable than the older two, which although fantastic based themselves off too much on set ability paths which were more effective than others. Wherever Sonny might be now, I'll miss him. We had a very cheery last adventure together.
Sonny
the god of farms, you won't beat this game without spending 3x times of actual campaign battles farming xp, totally a downgrade from the original. edit: actually you will be farming for gold, because im pretty sure the game as a line of code that makes all the enemies regardless of the stage to have a matching or close enough level of Sonny, I am lv 30 on the chapter 4 boss and because i spend all my money on a speed build i can't defeat the boss and is bs final attack, im not faming 200 money per train to buy gear to 3 diferent characters, i have more games to play, please game respect my time.
A big gripe i have with the ''remake'' is the lack of animations and the use of only sprites. Although the game is decent,i am severly bummed at the fact your gear doesn't show anymore. Although there are a lot of gameplay improvements like mutations [parts aquired from other zombies] . I recommend getting the original Sonny instead
If you've played the old Sonny flash game this is more or less the same. There are some bugs. Occasionally, when changing menus the game will display a black screen and you have to exit the game and reopen it to fix. This is not a big deal due to the auto saves after almost every action outside of combat. Also, when evolving a skill in combat wait for the animation to finish before attacking. If you evolve and attack immediately this results in a skipped turn. I have not noticed any other bugs. Unlike the unfinished original Sonny series this reboot has a complete self-contained story. I think most of the complaints comparing this to the original Sonny and Sonny 2 are based on personal preferences or uncharitable dispositions. I will say one thing that was better in the originals was the post game bosses. This reboot has no post game content at all. That was the only thing I was disappointed with. One mechanic to note is the item upgrades are not exactly 'random' like the game tells you. The upgrades are randomly determined at the time the item is acquired not at the time an upgrade is purchased meaning once you have it the upgrades will always be the same. So, if you are a min/maxer backup your save before buying/upgrading an item that way you can 'pseudo re-roll' by loading the backup and re-buying the item. Definitely worth it if it's on sale or if you are a Sonny fan. If you're on the fence you can still find and play the original Sonny and Sonny 2 on Armor Games or through the Legacy Collection on Steam. I wouldn't recommend buying the collection though unless they are on sale since you can still play them for free.

I like the story and the art. It gets a bit too hard at the end but the game is good for what it is. The fact that the attacks of the characters are not fully animated does not hurt the gameplay at all. There are a lot of good visual effects to fill the gap and add to the expirience.
basically is almost RogueLike RPG but worst. not only you died alot, is just very unbalanced & lazy gameplay mechanic. is nothing like Sonny 1 & 2, either there just greedy or wanted to Revamp the story & characters but awful..or both. how the hell did they ever making their own mess after years made Sonny fans hype until now. right now im stuck with Zone 6 (The Ghost Baron) and i was doing the Physical only, is absolute Hell and takes alot of RNG. DO NOT MAKE MISTAKE LIKE ME, DON'T BUY THIS GAME, EVEN IT BECOMES CHEAP ON SALE, IS NOT WORTH IT PLAY SONNY LEGACY COLLECTION INSTEAD
