One of the best game series of all time!

A nice collection with nice quality of life additions and new features! The wide screen mode is a game changer and gives you a much better view of where you're going at those sonic speeds!

i wanna start by saying that i love this game. i think its the best way to play the classic games (If it werent for the soundtrack changes in sonic 3). but unfortunately, the sheer lack of care from SEGA is unacceptable. the main menu isnt optimized at all, the game crashes almost everytime you boot it up (i have to either click out of the window and re-enter it to get it to work, or i have to unplug my controller and re-plug it at the title screen), there arent any real accessible customization options (example: in sonic 1, if you wanna disable the spindash, you have to enter a cheat code. and you cant disable the dropdash from mania in any of the games either). the plus edition didnt fix any of these problems. plus, they de-listed all individual classic sonic titles, forcing this to be the only official way to play these titles on pc. if the crashes and barely functioning menu dont bother you, i definitely reccomend it. but unfortunately, the issues are too many to ignore for me. fix your game, SEGA.

for what the game brings to the table, you get a ton of epic stuff and like many have said is the def the best official way to play the classic sonic games (im someone new getting into sonic so spare me pls). but mods carry this game on its back dude, like bringing back sonic 3's original music which is great for those who want the authentic experience (aka me) but ye only get the game on sale tho because then its really worth the money and metal sonic is GOATED RAHHHHHH and knuckles too yeye

Seen some valid critique on if these ports are the best versions and way to experience these games. I'm not quite sure myself, but I plan on going back to the older hardware to play them all! I think this is perfectly fine for a baby's first OG Sonic experience though. That's what it was for me. Sonic 2 is my beloved also 🤩
