I played the original SEGA games back in the 90s and nostalgia made me purchase this. I am very satisfied with the collection and I recommend it both to old and new players. The main difference is that instead of "lives" system like we had before, now there are coins. The coin system can be ignored for those who do not care about it. Coins can be used to re-try bonus levels or purchase things in the museum, which I will talk about in a bit. The 2 non-core game features that I find really fun are the museum and the missions. The museum features a lot of old files, illustrations, animations and sounds from the Sonic games. Some are being unlocked by progressing within games, and some can be obtained by using coins. I really love this part, particularly in-progress animation, concept illustrations and old game manuals. The missions are short mini games, for example collecting 50 rings in 3 minutes or defeating 10 mobs in the shortest time possible. They are really fun and you get coins as a reward. The only negative sides are the menu and the buggy keyboard controls. I struggled to launch the game the first time, it took a few tries to get through. And I never managed to make the arrows and space buttons work within the game even tho they work in the main menu. It is a bit annoying, but it did not spoil the great experience I've had. Overall, 10/10 for me.

Pretty good way to play the classic Sonic games. My only complaint is small amount of soundtrack changes they made in Sonic 3&K but other than that, pretty good. The challenges were also fun to play and I'm glad they added both the American and Japanese soundtracks to Sonic CD.
