The best game ever
the chao garden is so beautiful and the action stages are awesome but the treasure hunting stages really are a pain
timeless classic
this is a very good sonic game... for the gamecube at least. they ported sa2 in the worst way. so many glitches. if you are on steam deck, you pa1 controls community layout. if you play this game, use mods like sa2 render fix. still a good game sega!
pretty cool game
So I was playing Sonic Mania (yeah, different game, I know) and I thought "wow I can't wait to try a Sonic game for the first time, I've only played a little Adventure 2" so I was playing it and it was actually intensely familiar and I was wondering why. I had the sudden realization that I have actually played Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic Advance, Sonic Advance 2, Sonic Advance 3, Sonic Rush, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (both episodes), Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic Heroes, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sonic and the Black Knight (idfk dude), Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (seriously), Sonic X (2007, again, seriously), and I had also seen the entirety of Sonic Underground on VHS. I had completely forgotten all of this until I played Sonic Mania. I tried playing Adventure 2 again after that but it was too weird. What does this all mean? I have no idea. I'm just scared and confused at this point. I don't even know who you talk to for something like this, it feels like a worse suppressed memory than being abducted by aliens. Mankind is truly cursed.
Sonic adventure 2 is an exhilarating, high speed platformer with 3 different gameplay styles, Speed (Sonic and Shadow), Treasure Hunting (Knuckles and Rouge), and Mech Shooting (Tails and Eggman). Teams are separated in 2 with the Hero Story (Sonic, Tails, Knuckles) and Dark story (Shadow, Rouge, Eggman). In Hero Story, Sonic is running away from G.U.N after being mistaken for Shadow's "crimes", Tails is learning to believe in himself and find faith in being independent, and Knuckles is searching for Master Emerald Shards after destroying it to release it from Eggman's grasp and protect it from Rouge. In Dark Story, Shadow starts off in hating humanity but comes to realize that the girl he swore to protect (Maria) wanted him to help humanity and make the world a better place, Rouge is also out for Master Emerald Shards for her own selfish desires, and Eggman is out to finish his dead Grandfather's master plan by destroying the planet with the "Eclipse Cannon". This filled with lore and intriguing story telling that is the cherry on top for the already fantastic gameplay I love SA2 <3
