One of the best stories I've seen in gaming history, I even presented the game story in a school presentation.
Peak, if you played previous Frictional games; you would be somewhat familiar with the gameplay; tho it does bring allot of content and the story is pure peak. Worth every penny.

There is no need to be concerned. You're in a safe place with this game! Just please don't leave me alone after this! I need to know I'm still human!!! Genuinely such a perfect Psychological Horror game.
This game has one of the most devastating, beautiful, heartbreaking narratives, but most people will never open themselves up to it. I got lucky and experienced this exactly the way it was intended, and it spoke to me. This is a great story for the information age, I recommend it to anyone that loves reading Sci-fi horror as a genre. It's a walking simulator at the end of the day, but a very good one, with surprisingly great graphics in 2026, the art, atmosphere and meticulously crafted audio soundscape carries it entirely. It still holds up. Full disclosure, if this one grabs you the way it grabbed me, you'll end it crying a little bit, and it will leave you feeling like a shell of your former self. If you're not into that sort of thing, there are better ways to spend your time. For me? 10/10, and indeed the only game I've ever felt the need to 100%. Well, except for Dead Space, but that's another story entirely.

SOMA made me genuinely uncomfortable with the idea of consciousness. It didnt need a cutscene to do it. Sometimes it was just me standing in an empty room, staring at a machine I didnt want to turn on. Wondering which version of myself Id have to turn off next. 10/10 mega super story survival horror.
